Aunt Bert's White Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2000
I think those are supposed to be egg WHITES because the cake turned out really heavy and spongy. I didn't care for it.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2000
I really like this sugar cookie recipe. I have been searching for a long time for the perfect sugar cookie, and this comes really close. I like to roll them a bit thicker than in the recipe.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2000
I guess I had really high expectations from all the other reviews on here, but I thought this was better than average, but nothing really special.

Barb's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2000
I thought the cake was okay. It wasn't sweet enough, in my opinion. I really didn't care for the icing. I can't really pinpoint what I didn't like about it, but overall, I didn't care for the taste of the icing. As a whole, I think this was average cake. Still searching for THE perfect chocolate cake.

Savory Tater Tot Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2000
I thought this was a good family meal, but my husband didn't like all of his food touching each other, so it's probably not something I'm going to make again. The soup sorta tasted like cheese on the vegetables. :)

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2000
I think they tasted just like the Tollhouse recipe, however, they stayed really soft and were chewy.

Frosted Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2000
The cookie part tasted similar to a brownie and baked up fluffy (perhaps due to the sour cream) rather than flat. The chocolate frosting that goes with it tasted strongly of coffee, so I would suggest decreasing the amount of coffee or tasting it as you add more. It tasted pretty good, but I'm not a huge chocolate fan. My husband said they're unique. :)

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 7, 2000
My husband said it's a keeper. I doubled the sauce though, and was probably just about enough for the three of us (I used only 3 breasts). It was different, and it had a nice taste. I'll most likely make this again. Only thing is, I used chives and onion cream cheese because I couldn't find chives only cream cheese. I dunno if others have run into the same problem.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: May 11, 2000
I added 1/2 t. garlic powder to the beef. I thought it was a nice casserole, but somewhat on the bland side. My husband said he liked the taste, but we wasn't crazy about the texture of the cabbage. I think I'll cut them into smaller pieces next time.

Chocolate Kiss Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: May 16, 2000
The peanut butter part wasn't extremely strong in the pb taste - the way I like it. My husband suggested that I make the chocolate layer thicker next time by doubling it. Everyone liked the taste of it.

Ham and Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: May 20, 2000
Normally I like spinach but I thought the flavor overwhelmed everything else. If I ever made this again, I will definitely use another vegetable in place of it. From what I could taste in bites without the spinach, it was pretty good.

Taco Bake I

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2000
My husband really liked this recipe. He wants it again soon. I was happy that it was so easy and quick to make. I also used chunky salsa, and wished I had warmed up the refried beans, but I managed. Thanks for offering your yummy recipe. (I think it tasted like a mexican pizza from Taco Bell minus the layers of friend tortilla bread)

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2001
Very creamy with a delicate peanut butter taste. It wasn't too strong. The only thing I would change is to maybe tint the filling with some food coloring because it appeared too light in color. It's a psychological thing for me since PB is supposed to be dark brown! :) I used a regular crust, and followed the directions exactly.

French Silk Chocolate Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2001
I think it was because I used cheapo sugar, but this pie had a gritty feel to it, and I couldn't get passed that, and the fact that I was eating RAW eggs! Ehhhh! Hehe.. But I think I liked the taste pretty well.

Doubletree Hotel's Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2001
I also followed the recipe in teh reviews. Didn't like it. The dough didn't taste good, and the cookies spread like no tomorrow (and yes, I did use butter and refrigerate). I don't like these cookies! I think the cinnamon was the killer.

Grandma's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2001
This crust was very flaky. I absolutely HATE to stray from the recipe on my first time making it, but we didn't have any white vinegar so I had to use apple cider vinegar. It turned out fine, needless to say. I think I will probably try this crust again.

Chocolate Fudge Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
We used Hershey's hot fudge topping (and I usually prefer Smuckers) and the taste of the hot fudge was very noticeable. Needless to say, I didn't care for this recipe because of that. However, I think I might try this again with Smuckers. Also, I put in 3 tbs. of milk, and it was way too runny. So be careful with the amount of milk you put in! THe frosting was very creamy and smooth though. And it didn't dry up all hard like the Hershey's recipe for chocolate frosting.
