Pork Tenderloin with Creamy Herb Sauce

This did NOT work out for me. The sauce was inedible and went down the drain; thank goodness I had the pork set aside and didn't have to chuck that too. I followed the recipe as written, but would never attempt it again. Sorry.

Triple Berry Crisp

This was good, but way too sweet. The berry part was good and still retained some tartness, but the crisp bit was way too sweet. Next time I would use only 1/3 (or maybe less) brown sugar. Might try this again but wouldn't break any land speed records to do it.

Hunan Peppered Pork

This was a good recipe, and probably very authentic. It is very simple, but tasty. I used 3 jalapenos and that was too much; would cut down to 1-1 1/2 jalapenos next time. Served with rice and a steamed vegetable, this is a fast and healthy meal.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

I added an extra can of golden mushroom soup, half a packet of dry onion soup mix, 3 teaspoons of minced garlic, generous amount of black pepper, a cup of fresh sliced mushrooms, and a dollop of sour cream at the end. With those additions, it was delicious; we had it over buttered noodles.

Restaurant Style Beef and Broccoli

This was alright but lacked seasoning. IMHO it needs a lot more ginger, garlic, and soy sauce. A few red pepper flakes wouldn't hurt, either. But it's a good jumping-off point, and quick.

Slow Cooker Thai Pork with Peppers

Easy, tasty, and stuff I almost always have on hand. I wish the sauce would have been thicker, tho, as the pork was a little dry and needed a thicker sauce to cling to it. I had a pork loin roast that I cut into chops, and since I had run out of dry red pepper flakes I used Thai red chili paste. Also served with lots of limes to add sourness. Will definitely make again!

Sweet Hot Mustard Chicken Thighs

I used chicken drumsticks for this and marinated them for about 11 hours. I didn't have any chipotle powder so subbed paprika instead. We liked this recipe very much. Slightly too sweet; I might cut back on the brown sugar a little next time but we will definitely have these again!

Healthier Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

This was good for a home recipe, and bonus: no frying! I used chicken legs and baked them for an hour in a 400F oven. Next time I might cook them a little longer to get them a little crispier. The flavor was good, and I liked the spices in the flour dusting (I mixed them all together in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag and shook the chicken in the bag). The sauce was good but I will definitely decrease the butter next time; even this little amount left a sheen of oil on top of the sauce. A terrific alternative to ordering pizza and wings! Thanks!

Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine II

This worked out very well for me. I substituted olive oil for vegetable and used a teaspoon of white wine instead of lemon juice (too lazy). After topping it with sauce, cheese, and pepperoni I baked it on a baking tray in a 500F oven for 12 minutes: perfect. Next time I will roll it out thinner as it gets quite a last minute rise in the oven and my husband prefers thinner crust. Thanks!

Ginger Veggie Stir-Fry

This was yummy---I've never made a stir-fry this way before but it was very good, and truth be told, more successful than my previous attempts! I cleaned out the fridge for this one: broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, snow peas, green pepper, and added two microwaved Quorn Naked Chik'n fillets. Used garlic and ginger pastes from the local Indian grocery and low sodium soy sauce. I'm doing Weight Watchers, and this added up to 4 points plus extra points for some rice. Thanks!!!

Pina Colada Muffins

These were delicious! I substituted 1/4 cup of applesauce for the butter and doubled the rum flavoring. Fantastic! Next time I might substitute Splenda for the sugar and make them really healthy.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Hoo boy, is this sweet! I used sugar-free pudding (one vanilla and one cheesecake) and Splenda Brown, and it was still tooth-achingly sweet. Next time I will leave out the pudding and just make the cake or something...that being said, my husband is eating a big square of this with ice cream and raving about how good it is, so, to each his own!

This recipe is delicious! I had my doubts with the way it went together (I followed the original recipe)but it turned out great. Yes, the sponge is sticky, and after kneading the dough is very elastic and gloopy. But given time, it works! I mixed the sponge in with the other ingredients by hand (don't have a stand mixer) then threw it all into the bread machine on Dough cycle. When I took it out, I divided it into 16 mini loaf sized pans and baked them for 20 min. They came out golden and perfect. They have a lovely taste, good crumb, and a nice crust. My British husband loves them as they taste like the bread in England and not the horrible, felt-textured bread here in the States. Thanks for the great recipe!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Does just what it says it will: it is beef stew made in the slow cooker. Tastes good, filling, delicious. I use chuck roast (cheaper than stew beef) and it came out very tender and flavored the whole stew. Needs something to elevate it that one extra star, but it is a very nice stew, and I will make it again.

Mushroom Chicken in Sour Cream Sauce

This isn't the prettiest dinner I've ever served, but it does taste great. Next time I'll wait to add the sour cream so the sauce doesn't look so split. I didn't have any lemon-pepper so I added the juice of a lemon just before serving. Very easy and tastes great: will definitely make again!

Italian Chicken Skillet

I made this for dinner tonight and enjoyed it. As written, I don't imagine it would have much flavor, as even with my additions, it was pretty mild on the palate. I doubled the garlic, added some red pepper flakes, some Italian seasoning, an onion chopped and sauteed, and a green pepper. Towards the end I added a chopped up zucchini. I would make it again, even though my husband was a little lukewarm about it.

Chow Mein with Chicken and Vegetables

I just made this for dinner tonight and my husband called it "The best thing you've cooked in a long time." He polished off two bowls! It was a little bland, but we added more soy sauce and hot sauce at the table. I also added a generous amount of fresh grated ginger to the chicken / soy / cornstarch mixture. Will definitely be making this again! Thanks!!
