Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Not a bad cookie. Really flat. I had to bake up to 12 minutes per batch and could really taste the baking soda in them. They're good in a pinch with some milk, but I don't think I'll make them again.

Brown Sugar Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I didn't realize that this recipe made so much! I only had a loaf pan. I would highly recommend halving the recipe if you're not wanting to make a large bundt. I ended up having to make two loaves because I had so much batter. When using a loaf pan, increase the cooking time to 75 minutes. At 60 minutes, it's still gooey in the middle. Also, for a better flavor, use a tablespoon of vanilla and a teaspoon of almond extract. That helps with the complaints on here about the cake being too bland. Also, I sprinkled a sweet cinnamon sprinkle on top with crushed walnuts and it came out delicious (the ends were a little tough, but soften up nicely with whipped cream on top). :) All in all, a delicious cake recipe I'll add to my box.

Vanilla Ice Cream VIII

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
It was a little runny and didn't quite freeze enough, but was relatively creamy. I think if I make it again I'll freeze it overnight to let it set. It has a good flavor to it. I added some orange extract to it and it had a dreamsicle flavor to it. :)

Creamy Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
It had a good flavor, but came out really runny and thin. Not creamy at all! I won't use this recipe again. I wasted good ingredients on this and am very disappointed.

Orange Oatmeal Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
The batter was very think and hard to spread. The cake came out very dry and crumbly. It fell apart as I took it out of the pan. It didn't rise at all. The flavor was good, but the texture was horrible. I wouldn't make this again.

Vanilla Ice Cream VI

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
I changed the recipe a little bit to give it a holiday twist. I cut the recipe in half because my ice cream maker is on the small side. I substituted a third of the milk for egg nog and doubled the amount of vanilla used. It had a great flavor with an ok texture. It was a little too icy and not creamy enough. Next time I think I will omit the water and use heavy cream instead of the milk. However, it's a good base recipe to add to. :)

Pumpkin Ice Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
This was pretty good. All I had was a 30oz can of pumpkin pie mix so I omitted the spices and ended up adding a little more pumpkin than it said. I used the remaining pumpkin in a simple syrup to pour over the top. I didn't layer it with the cookies or anything and just refroze it and scooped it up. I'll make this again for holidays.

A fabulous recipe that is the perfect addition to any carrot or pumpkin cake! Not overly sweet with a great cream cheese taste!

Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
I made this cake for my husband's birthday. This is a man who does not like cake of any kind. After watching everyone else eating it and hearing them rave, he tried it and loved it! This is the highest praise anyone can get. He's asked me to make it for Thanksgiving dinner instead of pumpkin pie. I doubled the recipe and paked it in a 9x13 sheet pan and iced it with the Cream Cheese icing submitted by JJ. It was so awesome! Very moist. I wouldn't change a thing.

Peanut Butter Brownies I

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
Absolutely delicious! I doubled the recipe (bake for 45 mins if you do this!), substituted half of the flour for cocoa powder (2/3 cups of each for a double batch), added chocolate chips instead of peanuts, and they came out the right amount of gooey and chewey. :) This is a dangerous recipe to have around for those late night chocolate cravings!

Pork Chops with Apples, Onions, and Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
I added a half cup of water to the pan before baking so the pork chops wouldn't dry out, and they were so moist and tender. Also, I had to bake them for an extra 15 minutes or so because the potatoes were still crunchy. I recommend tossing the apples, onions, potatoes, and seasonings together before putting them over the pork chops because all of the seasonings stayed on the top and I had a layer of veggies/fruit that were way too seasoned and a layer without seasonings. Last thing, add a little bit of garlic powder to the pork chops before putting them in the pan, it really adds a nice flavor. This was a HUGE hit with my family and they beg me to make it over and over again!

Marshmallow Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
The first batch I made came out uncooked in the middle, so I recommend baking for 30-35 minutes instead of 25. Also, I added the eggs and vanilla into the butterscotch mixture first and whipped until creamy before adding the dry ingredients. It just seemed to work a little better that way. All in all, delicious brownies. Enough sweet to make anyone comatose from sugar shock. They're great with vanilla ice cream on top.
