Slow Cooker Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2014
This is really good, just like most all the other reviewers have said. I love it b/c I cooked it mid-afternoon and then transferred it to the crockpot. I am usually so tired by the end of the day that I don't want to spend a lot of time preparing a meal. With this recipe, I had most of the clean-up done by 3:00 and dinner was cooking away. All I had to do was turn the stove on to cook the rice. Simple!! I served it with my garden fresh cucumbers, onion and Greek yogurt salad.Big hit and a keeper for sure!!

Mandarin Chicken Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2014
This is very good. I love all the colors and the salty sweet flavor. I poached my chicken in water with an added Asian spice. I will definitely make this again.

Good Old Meat Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
This was very, very good! I made it with leftover lamb that we had on Easter Sunday. I used 3 cloves of garlic instead of garlic powder, and I also added thyme and rosemary for seasoning. Like some others, I sauted the vegetables first and put everything into a double crust before baking. YUM!

Red Curry Flank Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2014
I really liked this recipe for several reasons. First, it was easy and didn't require hours to marinate. So often I am trying last minute recipes, only to realize they need to marinate overnight. Secondly, it was very tasty! I followed the directions exactly and it came out tender, moist and very flavorful. Thanks Chef John!!

The Last Caesar Salad Recipe You'll Ever Need

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2013
Excellent recipe!! I love garlic, so I used one very large clove and a medium sized clove. Like a previous reviewer, I used anchovy past (as her conversion stated 1/2 t./fillet) and I am very partial to preserved lemons in place of lemon juice, so I diced the peel very finely, discarding the fruit. I will definitely be making this again!!

Chayote and Sausage Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
I made this tonight and we really liked it! I only used one jalapeno and added a little bit of chicken broth along with the tomatoes, beans and corn. Instead of serving it with rice, I spooned it over some Yukon Gold fingerling potatoes. I will make it again, next time I have a chayote on hand.

Salmon Burgers with Lemon Basil Mayo

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2012
This was delicious! I made it last week, and today my son asked if I would make some more of the mayonnaise. Turns out he had been using it on his roast beef sandwiches all week! Naturally, I quickly made up another batch.

Firecracker Scallops

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
This was a very good way to prepare scallops. It was easy and fast and the end result was delicious! I would have given it 5 stars but it was very laden w/calories! Still, I'm sure I will make it again, probably after I run the marathon!

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
This is an excellent recipe, I've been making it for over 25 years. If you want to do something kinda fun, put the chicken salad in a pre-baked pie shell, lined with some torn lettuce. Add a small amount of finely grated cheddar and sprinkle some paprika on top for color. Cut in wedges when serving.

Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
This is very good and easy to make. I will definitely be making biscotti again, trying some of the variations on this site. I used the fresh zest from 1 med. size orange instead of the 2 t., which I assume meant dried. I think that would have been a little much. Also, I mistakenly used raspberry flavored choc. chips. It was ok, but next time I'll be sure to look at the package and use plain choc. chips. The 1/2 c. of chips was way too much, imo, so next time I will cut it down to 1/4c. Even the almonds could be cut down, if you are running low, but over all, it's a great recipe!!

Peanut Butter Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
I thought these muffins turned out very well, especially considering that I forgot to add the oats! I like the combo of peanut butter and bananas, and think the flavor came through just fine. I will keep this recipe in mind next time I have some over ripe bananas again.

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
Enjoyed this recipe, but combined it w/another on this site. It was the one that added the 3 eggs with 1 c. parm cheese mixed at the end, just bf serving. Also, I used 1/3c. small ring pasta,as that is what I had on hand. I sprinkled a bit of lemon pepper in at the end, too. I will make this again, and may add a can of white beans, just to give it more bulk as the winter descends upon us!Bon Apetite!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2007
This is very good, and I did make changes that were advised by other cook, i.e.,garlic, worchesteshire, mix the flour w/some broth prior to adding, and adding dark red wine at the end, just b/f mushrooms and sour cream. I didn't add sour cream, I used cream cheese and cream fraiche. This works so well if you are trying to "hold" this dish until guests arrive (in my case, husband!) I will provide a very easy recipe for cream fraiche that will keep for a month in the fridge. !/2 pint half'n'half, 1/2/pint whipping cream, 2T. buttermilk. Pour all together in jar and set out on counter 24hrs. It will thicken, then refrigerate and use as you would sour cream. It is excellent to use as a base for other sauces.

We really enjoyed this recipe. We thought the blue cheese was a wonderful way to steer away from of the same ole same ole methods of preparing pork chops. It's a keeper!

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2007
This turned out very well, however I left out the brown sugar since I didn't want it to be too sweet. Next time I might try it with, just so I can taste that method also. I will definitely cook my St. Patty's day meal using this recipe again!
