A few variations of my own. I grated the 3 carrots and mixed them with the mince, (hamburger meat) somewhat as a filler. I also added 5 garlic cloves to the meat mixture before cooking it. I fried 3 pieces of bacon and sautéed the onions, sliced mushrooms and 1 thinly sliced but coarsely chopped red bell pepper, (paprika) in the bacon fat mix with 1 tbls of butter and ½ tbls of olive oil. I then added the meat mixture to the mushrooms, onions and bell. I substituted the Italian spice with 6 tbls of fresh chopped oregano. I stayed true to the cooking times and heat suggestions. I shredded 2 cups of cheese and mixed them with the mash. Once in the pie dish I sprinkled the top with grated cheese. That's it. Rob Hudgins
