About this Cook
I am a seasoned cook. Picked it up as a hobby when I had down time in the service. Now I find it fun and therapeutic. Most of the time if I'm not dining out, my sister and I will make a nice dinner at our place or else I'll fly solo and make dinner for the parents.
My favorite things to cook
I like to try new stuff because very rarely does a dish I make fail to impress people. I like doing a little bit of everything, I just started experimented with soups, if you can put together a creative soup that tastes good, you've got skills in my eyes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is 100% European mutt but my dad loves to cook Asian style. I like cooking traditional German dishes. And though none of us are Italian, that seems to be the favorite in the family.
My cooking triumphs
Creamy ham and vegetable chowder, stuffed eggplant, bacon-wrapped stuffed chicken breast, German potato salad, frittatas, pasta salads, Dutch-Diplomat wraps
My cooking tragedies
Coconut shrimp(the coating would not stick!) and a 'hamburger-veggie soup' without a recipe, it was a disaster! And some ribs I ruined with melted plastic wrap, amateur mistake.

Bratwurst, Sauerkraut and Bean Casserole
I thought this recipe was pretty good. As suggested I simmered the brats in beer with some onions before baking it. I accidentally bought too much baked beans and too little sauerkraut but it actually turned out pretty good. Especially fresh and hot right out of the oven.

Spicy Garlic Salmon
I thought this was very tasty, I would have made it a little more spicy, but that's just my taste. Very good hot out of the oven.
