Breaded Dijon Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
Wow, these were great. I used seasoned Italian bread crumbs in place of the saltines, and added salt, pepper, and garlic powder. I'm not a big fan of fried foods, but I fried the chops in olive oil instead of vegetable oil and they didn't taste fried at all. This tasted great and was super quick, so I will definitely be making this again. Thanks for a fantastic recipe!

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
The recipe seemed to need additional seasoning and taste, so I sautéed the mushrooms together with garlic and onion for added flavor. After the chicken was done, there was a little bit of mushroom/chicken broth sauce in the pan, but I felt like more liquid would have been better. I spooned what liquid I had over pasta and it was delicious.

Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
I added extra garlic and used light sour cream. Although this recipe is a tad time-consuming, the results were quite tasty and would be good on chicken as well as pork.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
Fantastic recipe! I had never made corned beef and cabbage before, but this turned out great. I added a whole peeled onion and a few peppercorns to the beef while it simmered. Before adding the cabbage, I took the beef out to rest and wrapped it in aluminum foil to stay warm. I served this with the Nana Dot’s Irish Soda Bread recipe from this site. Delicious!

Blackened Tilapia with Secret Hobo Spices

Good recipe. I skipped the bread part as it did not sound too appetizing. The mixture is definitely spicy, so keep that in mind when applying. Easy and quick---good for a weeknight meal.

Barbequed Steelhead Trout

Barbequed trout certainly sounds interesting, but this was great!! Full of just the right amount of flavor. The only change I made was adding garlic powder. Delicious!

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Great recipe! Adding about 1/2 cup of applesauce was the only change I made. Also, when making this again, I think I'd only cook for about 55 minutes or so---it came out a tad try after a full hour.

Artichoke and Sun-dried Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
Really good recipe. I added a lot of garlic, garlic powder, and onion powder. The ingredients are a little expensive, so this recipe probably won't be a too-often occurrence in my house, but it was still delicious.

Beef Barbecue Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
Wow, these exceeded my expectations!! I used the biscuit dough from the "Never Fail Biscuits" recipe on this site, and the recipe turned out great. The recipe is very versatile and any number of fillings could be used---chicken, broccoli, and mozzarella with perhaps a cream of mushroom type soup or beef, onion, olives, spaghetti sauce, and mozzarella...the possibilities are endless. Thanks for a fantastic recipe!!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
This is a good base recipe, but I found it to be a little bland overall. It definitely could use more seasoning and perhaps a variation on the liquids added. I'd definitely try it again (super easy recipe), but I'd modify it a bit more.

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
This is a great recipe! It was certainly sweet, but neither my husband nor I found it too sweet. I think this would make a nice holiday recipe. I used a little less vegetable oil, but other than that kept everything else the same. Thanks for a great recipe.

Mom's Best Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
These were okay. Granted, I made some changes, so I know it's not entirely fair to review the recipe, but I wanted to anyway. I replaced the saltine crackers with a mixture of flour and bread crumbs and added salt, pepper, and extra garlic and onion powder, but the pork chops ended up being a little bland. I think this recipe would be improved with additional seasoning.

Broccoli-Stuffed Sole

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
This was a good base recipe, but I made quite a few changes. I used spinach instead of broccoli, a Mexican cheese blend (that was what I had) instead of cheddar, Bulgur wheat instead of rice (had no rice, but would prefer rice), and used flounder as my fish of choice. I added sautéed onion and garlic to the stuffing as well as some garlic powder, onion powder, and crushed red pepper. I also added some crumbled turkey bacon to the mix and that really added to the taste. Lastly, I used about half the recommended amount of salt per the reviews. My husband thought the dish was just okay, but I thought the stuffing was delicious (good enough to eat by itself, in fact). The dish was a little more time-consuming than I’d like, especially considering the so-so reviews by my husband. I liked it though, so it’s still on my list.

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
I used this recipe in place of the boxed cake mix in the Rainbow Clown Cake recipe from this site. I made cupcakes and they came out moist and delicious. I think that two of the keys to this recipe are beating the eggs until frothy and sifting the ingredients the proper amount of times. Thanks for a great recipe!

Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
Good recipe! I omitted the bacon, and sautéed some garlic with the rest of the rest of the vegetables. Next time, I may substitute chili peppers or jalapenos for one of the bell peppers. I used the chicken and vegetable quantities as stated, but I only had enough mixture to fill seven (rather than ten) tortillas. Tasty!!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
I used a 2.5 lb. chuck roast seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. I substituted approximately 1 T. onion powder for the onion soup mix, and doubled the liquid using half water and half beef broth. I also added whole garlic cloves and half an onion cut in large pieces and placed around the roast. Good recipe.
