Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
Oh God! This was so good and so easy! I was out of chocolate chips so added Hershey kisses I had on hand on top about 5 minutes before taking it out of the oven. Delish! I reduced the sugar by half, loosely packed and it was sweet enough....My teeth hurt just imagining what a whole cup of sugar will do.

Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
Texture-wise it was perfect, spongy and very moist...but taste-wise?...I'm not so sure. I'm not saying it tastes bad but it's not good either. My solution was to serve it with a scoop of vanilla-pecan ice cream and that saved the cake.

English Royalty Chocolate Chip Scones

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
As it is, I'd give it 4 stars because I can't imagine what it'd be without the rec'd extra butter and OJ but the taste and texture were wonderful! Really crispy/chewy outside and very moist inside. I added sour cream because I ran out of OJ when I still had tons of free flour and had to bake for much longer to get a beautiful golden color.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
At first I thought I did something wrong because it didn't look light and flaky as I like my scones but the taste was yummy. They are more like moist cookies.

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
I didn't follow exactly but the original recipe would have been perfect too. I used chicken breast as I didn't have any pork at home and added some minced garlic and cayenne pepper to the marinate. I cooked this in the stovetop and served with rice. YUM!

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
Easy aand quick to make. The first time I got really heavy rolls because I added more flour(about 1+ c.) than the recipe called for due to the summer humidity. The second time I used only 1/4 c. more than the amount called for. The dough felt a little sticky but the resulting rolls were marvelous!

This was so good and so easy to make! THe chicken was moist and tasty. I used less cheese and sauteed onions with the mushrooms before baking.

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
Quick, easy and yummy! I've tried several toppings(?) and my favorite is to brush with an olive oil, minced garlic and kosher salt mix before baking. Cheese is truly optional with this recipe.

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
The good: easy & tasty. The bad: came out mushy and didn't fluff. The vanilla helped lots and was delicious with cinnamon & brown sugar sauce.

Yogurt Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2007
Ohh~!! Nice way to make creamy cheese! Loved it! Although instead of waiting for the water to drain away I just poured the mix on a clean handkerchief placed on a strainer and twisted the cloth to manually drain it while watching TV. I just couldn’t wait for the two days. It was easy and not messy at all. I did this until there was no more water to drain. Just remember to wash your hands very well. You can instantly see how the cheese forms.
