About this Cook
I love cooking for my family and enjoying good food and good company.
My favorite things to cook
Where to begin...I enjoy making Sunday breakfast, appetizers, chili, beef stroganoff, slow cooker pot roasts, cookies, and I have gotten requests for my chocolate chip banana bread.Yum!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well my 'yooper' family traditions include pasties, meat pies, and delicious triple berry pies. My southern family has taught me how to make fried chicken, cornbread, and mouth watering peach cobbler. I am feel so grateful to have learned so many traditions from both sides of my family.
My cooking triumphs
A layered trifle of strawberries and blueberries for an Easter supper, it was a hit! And making my first Thanksgiving turkey, it was a lot more work then I ever realized my mother went through, but they pay off was well worth it!
My cooking tragedies
Well like every adventurous cook there has been a few along the way, I have a bad habit of burning things..Like flicking on the broiler just to "brown" the top then walking away..But I am slowly learning my lessons. :)

Indian Chicken Curry II
I love this!! My first attempt at Curry and it has become a staple comfort food in my home. I do not like coconut so I omit the coconut milk and increase the yogurt and I like mine with a whole can of tomato paste (6 oz.).If you like things a little more spicy you can certainly turn up the heat with an increase in the cayenne. Also, this recipe can be duplicated with the use of Chinese curry powder too!

Easy Tuna Casserole
This was awesome! I love tuna and this was a great way to add some variety to my usual fall back recipes. I had real onion on hand so chopped it finely and mixed right in, also followed other recommendation and used one can of chicken and mushroom soups. Also topped the dish with an additional cup of cheese. I felt it needed a little extra flavor, so I added garlic and paprika, celery salt and white pepper. This will be a new family favorite for sure!

Chicken Breasts Supreme
This was delicious, and a nice recipe to have on hand for chicken breasts. I added some mayo and shredded cheese to the mixture, baked for about 40 min and the chicken was perfectly tender! Served over egg noodles. This will be a cold weather recipe for sure!
