Strawberries and Cream Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2007
This recipe was beautiful. It is sweeter than standard bread pudding, and I only used 2/3 cup of sugar. I also substituted strawberry yogurt for the cream. My entire family loved this pudding and it was pretty much gone in 24 hours.

Snickerdoodles I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
These are so good, we followed the directions exactly except cooked it around 350 instead of 375 (my oven tends to be hot). I added the vanilla other reviewers suggested and had to use butter because i had no shortening.. EVERYONE in my family LOVED these...

Sloppy Sams

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
I have to rate this a 5, although I added some brown sugar because I like my joes sweeter.. My husband said I should have left the recipe as is and is sure he would have loved the more savory version. Our three year old ate all his sloppy and none of his bun. I did not find this recipe bland and wonder if for those people who said it seemed bland if it was the lentils or tomatoes or paste used???

Rhubarb Sour Cream Pie

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
This recipe is excellent. I may reduce the sugar next time, and only had 3/4 cup sour cream, so supplemented with 1/4 cup of half and half. My husband and I both love it.. It is a beautiful flavor with the rhubarb.. Definitely a keeper!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
Okay this recipe is a lesson in reading reviews first. I was lazy and bought store crusts, so lattice was out. I should have thought to put the syrup over apples and then crust, but I followed the recipe exactly, and lets just say messy. I ended up injecting some syrup into the pie to prevent over flow. Definately will try again, love the caramel flavor.

Irresistible Double Chocolate Muffins

These are great!! I did not have flax seed so after some research decided to replace with whole wheat flour and thank goodness they worked out wonderfully with nice round tops!! My son who is the pickiest eater on the planet with many food aversions, LOVES THESE!! And they are healthy.. By the way I went and bought the ground flax seed for when I make them next time.

Cantonese Barbecued Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
This recipe is really good. The flavor is abundant. I used white wine instead of sherry because I had none on hand. I cooked on wire rack on a cookie Sheet lined with parchment. Turned out perfect husband says this one is a keeper. I am unsure about using reserved marinade for basting, so next time I will keep some of the mix outside the meat for safety.

Mimi's Zucchini Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
OK, so I am a bad girl and I followed the recipe that was included in one of the comments (3 c shredded zuchinni, 1/3 c oil, 1/2 c cheddar, 1/4 cup parmesan, 1 cup baking mix, 1 onion, salt, pepper. Mixed all together, topped with 1/3 cup shredded cheddar and 1 Tablespoon parmesan). I am one of those cookers who like to play when I bake, so I didn't follow the recipe exactly, but OMG it was incredible. I plan on making this again and again. I will try it a little closer to the original posted, because the bones of this recipe are good and easy to manipulate.

Zippy Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
This is a really good recipe. We used MILD CURRY since my hubby does not like heat. I used all fresh veggies.. This is great.. Used a little less meat and mushrooms, peppers, Onions, Garlic, Zucchini, carrots, adn peas. The flavor got better as it sat, and the end product is wonderful. Husband says it is a definate keeper, easy on the budget adn flavorful to boot.

Blueberry Buckle

We enjoyed this recipe. The first time I made it, I did not cook it long enough.. Be sure to check that your cake is cooked before removing it because it will look cooked and will not be. The second time I used frozen blueberries and it turned out ok.. Just needed to add more time for cooking.
