Golden State Mushroom Soup

You hit it out of the ballpark with this recipe! It is amazing soup, and I'm going to have to try reducing it to a sauce for pasta or pork dishes.

Angel Food Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
Great angel food cake! I did this recipe to use up a large number of leftover egg whites, and I wasn't even expecting it to come out. It was very simple, and delicious to boot.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
So I have tried this soup as written, and again with a few changes. As written this is a very good side dish or appetizer. It is delicious, while leaving one room for the meal ahead. Personally, when I make French Onion Soup, it is the meal, so I've made some changes. I caramelize the onions, as it makes the soup richer. I also add 1/2 tsp Parsley to the soup. I toast some crouton-sized bread chunks in the oven while the soup is simmering. French bread works very well, but I prefer the Bread Machine Pumpernickel Bread recipe found on this site. When the soup is ready, I fill the bowls, add a few toasted bread pieces, crumble in some havarti, top with a full slice of havarti, and a bit of parmesan. I put it in the oven until the cheese melts, and then serve.

Bread Machine Pumpernickel Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This bread is delicious. I've made it twice. Left out the caraway because I don't like it, and on the first attempt I didn't have any bread flour, so I replaced it with all purpose flour. It came out great anyway. Tastes great with a little butter, or dipped in hot tomato soup.

Wow, that's delicous. I used Dijon mustard for most of the mustard, but added a little stone ground for a bit of texture and kick.

My family loved it. On a side note, this makes way more dough than you need for a single 12 inch pizza.

Beef Stew II

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
I love this stew; it is wonderful for frozen snowy days. When I make it I omit the bay leaves and cloves, and add a cup of chopped mushrooms, a leak, a can of garbanzo beans and a can of kidney beans, I also add the leftover flour from dredging to thicken the stew. My family loves it, and we have found that it tastes even better the next day, as leftovers.
