Delicata Creamy Squash Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
Adding nutmeg (about 1 tsp) turns this from a good recipe to an excellent one. I also used light cream and milk instead, and it was still plenty rich enough.

Parker's Famous Margaritas

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
These were not bad, but not the best I've had. I think its better to just stick with fresh limes and skip the sweetened lime juice.

Mom's Island Treasures

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
My wife said they're the best cookies she's ever had. I'm not sure I'd go that far, but they are pretty good. I actually made them without the chocolate chips (we didn't have any) and used almonds instead of pecans. Was still great, can't wait to try the full recipe. I did have to cook them a bit extra, maybe 15 minutes.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
This is pretty good, although I didn't think it was quite as good as some of the other reviews seemed to think. Its a nice cheesecake, not too light, not too heavy. But I'm not sure its better than having a good pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving/Halloween!

Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: May 24, 2007
A bit too rich, and that was after cutting the mayonnaise by half. More of a side dish than a main.

Tomato Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
This is one of my favourite pasta sauces. It has a very nice flavour, and you can taste the vodka without it being overwhelming. I usually serve it with tortellini.

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
I had some trouble with the recipe, in that I couldn't seem to fit the amount of ladyfingers in. I ended up using less than half what the recipe called for. And the whole thing looked a little funny and lumpy. But... it still tasted incredible. I followed the recipe exactly (not counting the ladyfingers), except I skipped the cocoa powder since the chocolate shavings seemed to cover he whole thing adequately.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
This was pretty good, but my wife and I disagree on how good. I think its a three, she thinks its a five. So we're giving it a four.

This was very good. Both my wife (who is vegetarian) and I (who am not) liked it a lot.

Baked Alaska

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
I made this as a bit of a joke, since it has a reputation as an incredibly complex dessert. But it wasn't that hard, and tasted great.
