Five stars these these cookies are PERFECT if you like chocolate chip. I;m not a big choco chip fan but I made these for the Marines in my husbands unit. I used the advice to add 2 Tablespoons Vanilla, 2teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt.
I also used the suggestion of placing cookies at second to bottom rack with an empty cookie sheet underneath. I didnt have any parchment paper. This method did result in an increase in cooking time but the cookies came out PERFECT. Nicely brown all around opposed to just brown on the bottom. I did chill the dough in the freezer between batches and this made it very easy to handle.
I spooned the dough with my teaspoon measuring spoon and rolled them into balls. I also tried using a tablespoon. I found a tablespoon made bigger cookies That took a lot longer to cook. These cookies are very rich and sweet and a teaspoon sized ball makes the most beautiful cookie that is the perfect snack size. If you cook them until they are lightly browned all around they are slightly crispy on the outside and very soft and chewy on the inside.
You DEFINITELY need a tall glass of milk with these...they remind me of a popular soft brand of cookies. I feel bad for those Marines because they have no way of keeping milk from spoiling out in the field, otherwise I would of sent some with the cookies...oops.
Thanks for sharin
