About this Cook
My Mom got me started on this site, and now I'm hooked - who needs any more cookbooks! Growing up involved a lot of great food, as my Mom's a great cook (but I know that she got that from Grandma). And since I love to eat I quickly learned to love to cook almost as much.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, and cookies have always been a favourite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As a kid, who doesn't love Christmas, but it was as much about the food as the gifts and gathering together. A bunch of appetizers together made Christmas Eve's dinner or Christmas lunch depending on the given year, and also a huge selection of cookies. Now I make many of the same appy's and cookies for a Christmas party with our friends, using many of those same family recipes.

Death by Chocolate Mousse
I made the filling only as a chocolate mousse in wine glasses, topped with whipped cream. It set up beautifully adn everyone loved it, even the kids that had no idea what it was and were very nervous of trying it. I am definitely going to make this again, and will likely try it as a pie next time.

Chicken Broccoli Ca - Unieng's Style
Both my hubby and I found this very bland. We won't be making this again.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts III
I've made this twice now, once as the original was posted, and nce with a couple changes. Both tasted very good, but I liked it with less sauce (1/2 of it) and adding about a teaspoon of garlic powder to the sauce. Also I cooked it about 5 minutes longer before adding the sauce for a bit crispier bacon.
