Strawberry Torte

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
What a fabulous recipe! I've been waiting to try it because it looked really hard but it wasn't at all. I finally decided to do it for easter this year. I made two of these. Used chocolate ladyfingers on one and regular on the other. I added about 4 Tbsp kahlua with the vanilla for the chocolate one and I added about 4 Tbsp of Chambord liqueur to the other one. I don't think I would use Kahlua again because it was too strong but the Chambord tasted amazing! Maybe I'd try Bailey's next time? I topped them with whole strawberries and drizzled melted chocolate over the chocolate one. Everyone raved about the presentation and the taste! The only hard part is getting the ladyfingers to stand up in the pan. It's tricky but worth it for presentation! I followed some of the other reviewers suggestions regarding the strawberry layer... put it above the second ladyfinger layer and put the strawberries in the pan with the juice & cornstarch. Next time I think I'd try a layer of sliced fresh strawberries in the middle.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
I made this recipe with a vegan egg substitute because my son is allergic to eggs and it came out great. I had to add a bit of milk because it was too thick but that could have been because of the egg substitute. Otherwise these were awesome pancakes!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
This is a fabulous recipe that is part of my regular menu rotation. As many suggested I double the sauce. I bake it in a 9x13 lined with foil because it is really messy to clean up. I usually bake it for about 30 minutes covered, then add more sauce and cook for another 15 minutes or so.

King Cake in a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
Turned out great! The dough was really easy to work with. I will use a little less sour cream or a little extra sugar next time. The dough was a little too sour for my taste.

Ham Breakfast Braid

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
This is an excellent recipe with lots of room to be creative. The other reviews helped as far as understanding how to work with the dough. I would also recommend rolling out the bottom layer of dough a bit. It helps to seal the seams and makes it a little thiner. I used 10 eggs and next time I might even do 12. I used this cut ham diced up. I took this to a brunch today and it was a huge hit. Everyone raved about it. I think next time I will try other toppings such as sausage, green onion, green chile, bell pepper, etc.

Ricardo's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
I have tried many bread machine pizza crust recipes and this is my new favorite. I didn't have any of the problems that others complained about as far as sticking. This dough was the easiest dough I have ever handled. It rolled out beautifully without tearing at all. It cooked up perfectly. Next time I will follow others suggestions and use a little less sugar. My only criticism is that I think it would be good if the dough had a slightly more buttery taste. Other than that it is perfect! Made this again and used it for Stromboli. Used about 1.5 Tbsp sugar, otherwise followed the recipe. I did leave it in the frig wrapped up for about an hour before using it. It was the best stromboli I've ever made. Nice and fluffy, but not too dense.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
So good! I'm not a huge pretzel eater, but a friend of mine told me about this recipe and I loved it. I use this recipe to make pretzel dogs. I just roll out the dough and slice it into bun length strips, just long enough to wrap around a Hebrew National. I wrap the dog, dip in in the baking soda solution and then put it in the oven. Takes a few extra minutes to cook, but they are so good!

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
Very yummy, super easy tortillas soup! I use shredded deli rotisserie chicken just to make it easier (rather than raw). I also add a can of black beans. Very good comfort food!

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
This is one of my family favorites. I've used dried spices and it turned out fine, you just have to use a lot less. I've added carrots and zucchini (toward the end) and they make a great complement as well.

Stephanie's Freezer Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
Awesome recipe. I love that I don't have to peel the tomatoes. So much less work than most of the recipes. I've added a couple of chopped eggplants as well. Adds some extra nutrition and you can barely tell it's there!

Ham and Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
I used leftover Thanksgiving ham for this and it turned out awesome. Not a big swiss cheese fan, so we used monterey jack. Love a tip I got from another recipe of packing the cheese down well on the bottom to keep the crust from getting soggy!

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
I am not much of a turkey eater, but this is a great recipe. I've made it several times now and every time it has come out wonderful. I added some broth and extra wine to the pan because one cup didn't seem like enough to me. Other than that I pretty much followed the recipe right on and it worked great.

Seven Grain Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
This was a very good recipe. I liked it much better than even the 7-grain recipe that came with my bread machine. It is very dense though. Next time I will try to come up with a way to make it a bit more fluffy.
