Creamy Spinach Soup

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
I loved this soup! I used 2Tbls. of chicken base as I didn't have the chicken granules and part fat free half and half. The taste was still great. The next time I will use all fat free. I purchased the chicken base from Sam's club. Don't add salt if you use it, as it can be quite salty.

Cream of Mushroom Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
I love this soup. It is better than anything you could get from a can. I sauteed the mushrooms with the butter, flour, and onions. Like one user said, I would leave out the sherry, I tasted it before adding that ingredient and it was much better without it.

Awesome Ham Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
I used the recipe as a base for ham pasta salad. So I ommited the pickle relish and added a small piece of celery, app.1 teaspoon of beef base and 3 boiled eggs. It's a good recipe to play around with. Thanks.

Slow Cooker Green Beans, Ham and Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I have not made this particular recipe, but something simular. I like to use left over bacon grease for extra flavor and minced green onions and garlic. This for the person who said it was tasteless. You have to make it your own!

Olive Chicken II

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
I loved this recipe. Thank you to the other reviewers. I did thicken the sauce by whisking corn starch into a small amount of cold water. I also added about 2 tbls.of onion. I only had cheap chardonnay, but the taste was still good. I served it with rice made with chicken broth. My husband who isn't crazy about olives, said that it was real good.

Crab Quiche I

Great recipe, but don't use miracle whip. I did that and did'nt like the taste at all. I also like to use pepper jack and cheddar cheese blend.

Lazy Day Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
I have a recipe for this frosting, in an old cookbook that my husband got from the thrift store. In the book it say's that you can use cake mix for the cake, which I think would make it easier.

Lemon Icebox Pie III

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
This was great and although it's annoying, when people tweek recipes to death, this did need sugar in my opinion. Depend on how you like your pie. I used a store bought crust, will make my own next time and used key limes because I love key lime and lemon pie. This was great, you do have to keep tasting to make sure you're not making it too tart. I think I juiced about 5 limes, but only a little zest. I did sub. one brick for fat free and added a teaspoon of corn starch. I put it in the freezer and it stayed firm, even when I put it in the fridge later. I will play around with this one. The sky's the limit. Maybe strawberry next!

I've used simular recipes, but this was a reminder to make these soon. I think I will try them with beef onion soup mix.

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: May 16, 2008
This is more of an observation. If you marinade any meat in lemon juice, the cooking process will began, so I would add the lemon juice right before cooking and only add 1 tblsp.
