Healing Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
I love this soup. So easy to make and so delicious. The aroma gets everyone's attention. Sometimes I add a half pound of browned ground beef when I add the tomatoes to get a meat kick with the soup. I make this soup at least twice a month.

Mary's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
I must of did something wrong, but I don't know what. I followed the recipe exactly, and the top of the meatloaf came out burned. The meatloaf itself was not firm and fell apart. I double checked the recipe, and I followed it correctly. But it didn't come out as other reviewers stated.

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
Made this recipe with a 5lb. chicken and upped the ingredients for the larger bird. I also increased the time from 4 hrs on high to 6 hrs on high. Five hours would have been plenty for this size bird. The flavor is fantastic, and it is so tender. Love this recipe and shared it with others.

Roasted Barbecued Turkey Legs

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I love turkey legs, but this recipe is too low on cooking times. Following it my turkey legs did not brown, and the meat thermometer barely reached 160 degrees. I suggest leaving the turkey legs in the pressure cooker for at least 15 minutes instead of 5 minutes. Then broil them for at least 45 minutes instead of 15 minutes. They just never cooked fully using the recipe times.

Hearts and Gizzards (Giblets)

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Oh my was this good. I got more than I expected. Not only did I get highly flavorful results, I discovered it makes its own gravy. The only problem I had was letting the pressure cooker cook too long - 35 minutes would have been better than 45. I will use this recipe for making beef liver too. I most certainly will be eating chicken gizzards more often. Thank you BJALLEN.

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
This is a recipe worth keeping, but the cooking time seemed long to me. Lentils using take 20 to 30 minutes to cook in boiling water, so 11 hours seemed way off. And, so it is. After 11 hours the top of my stew was very dark and moisture in the slow cooker was almost nil. I added 2 cups of chicken broth to bring the stew back. It was eatable, but next time I am limiting cooking time to 3 to 4 hours on low. Fully cooked ham, veggies and lentils don't need half a day to cook. I would have rated the recipe 5 stars if not for the cooking time shown.

Ham and Bean Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
This is an easy and very tasty recipie. I used 3 quarts of water instead of 4 in my 5 quart stock pot, and the results were very good. I increased the veggie amounts by 1/3 and added 3 potatoes cubed. I will use this recipe after every ham I bake.

Gramma's Easy Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
I followed directions to the letter, sweat over the hot pan, and all I got was a pan full of dry, crumbly mixture of ingredients not suitable for anything. I had to soak the pan. Don't bother with this recipe.

Stuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Wonderful recipe. I make it twice a month. In addition to listed seasonings, I add seasoned salt to the meat mixture. Then I place the smaller cabbage leaves in the pot to serve as a bed for the stuffed cabbages. This prevents stuffed cabbage burn and makes more yummy cabbage to eat.

Bone-In Ham Cooked in Beer

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
Made this recipe twice without the pineapples, because I don't like them on my ham. The ham was very tender and tasty. This recipe is easy and a keeper.
