About this Cook
My hubby and I are expecting our first baby in March, so I'm trying to get a few good recipes under my belt before the little one comes. We love flavor! We love foods with herbs and veggies and onions-- ooh, and garlic! We also like to try new things, so every weekend I try to find one new recipe to try. So far, we've enjoyed them all!
My favorite things to cook
I'm a big fan of the slow cooker, because of it's convenience, but when I have time, I like to bake desserts! I'm a pretty good pie baker (though I'd much rather bake a batch of cookies.)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family never really cooked much. So I guess you can say that I'm a pioneer of sorts within the familial cooking tradition.
My cooking triumphs
My feta-bacon stuffed chicken turned out so good that I posted a photo! We also made a tremendous vegitarian lasagna that blew our friends away!
My cooking tragedies
Um, most of my cooking experiences for the first 26 years of my life....

Corn and Egg Flower Soup
My kids REALLY wanted to make this dish after a recent trip to a Chinese restaurant. It's pretty tasty, but surprisingly spicy. Sadly, it was too spicy for my kids to enjoy. We'll make it again, but we'll leave out the vast majority of the white pepper. Thanks for the recipe!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker
Very good, but the onion soup mix makes it very salty. I'll try an alternative next time. The marriage of merlot, onion and soy sauce, though, was great! And the pork fell apart as I cut it.

The Best Lemon Bars
Made exactly as the recipe states, and they are perfect. (Okay, not perfect because I'm terrible at cutting them, but that's my fault.)
