My First Entry
Jun. 26, 2011 2:54 pm

Hi all.  I am going to try this blog on and see how well I can keep up with it.  I absolutely love this site and I use it all the time.  My only concern is that I have 2 other blogs going at the same time as this one, just located on different websites (one personal site and one specialty site).

For today, I had a Medifast bar for breakfast due to the protein intake requirement I now have.  I had a quarter of a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch.  For dinner I made my Tangy Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Pasta for myself.  I have included the recipe on this post.  Also, I am including my signature Italian Garlic Bread with Cheese too.  They work together wonderfully.  I am going to have plenty of leftovers.  The sauce freezes great too!  That’s one of the reasons I make such a large portion.  It is great to have a little extra in the freezer and just defrost when I want some pasta.

Please feel free to give it a try and let me know what you think.  I hope you enjoy both of these recipes as much as I do.

Thanks to all who are reading… may your day be a happy one.

About Me
I am in my 30s, love to cook and I am a workaholic. I enjoy keeping my mind busy preparing and organizing. I love to cook new meals, as well as those passed down through the family. I would have to say I get more enjoyment out of cooking now that I have someone who absolutely loves my food. I also am a poet and enjoy relaxing in my hammock while writing.
My favorite things to cook
Southern food, italian food and slow cooker meals are my favorites. I enjoy my stuffed peppers, goulash, meatloaf and mashed potates, baked ziti and homemade mac and cheese. I really have found a passion lately in baking cakes. My favorite thing to cook is anything my man wants from his past, memories that involve his father and grandparents especially - they are no longer with him and this way I can bring a part of those memories back for him if even for a moment.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother taught me how to make homemade biscuits when I was a little girl and to this day I am the only woman in the family besides her that can make them the way she does. That is a tradition for all family functions and I am glad to be able to stand beside her when she brags about how good they are. I will get to carry that on for the family one day.
My cooking triumphs
I think I look at every meal as a triumph. It is a craft to create a comforting meal for the family and a talent that some people just don't share. It is all a creation.
My cooking tragedies
Fried chicken - the first time I cooked this for my husband when we were first just never got done!! I wasn't able to cook fried chicken until I found a great recipe on this website that was step by step and incredible!!
