I have been cooking since I was 10 when I would get up before everyone on Saturday morning and cook breakfast for my parents and siblings. I learned from my great-grandmother who never measured anything yet made the fluffiest yeast rolls and a chocolate pie never since duplicated. I have been cooking for 47 years and still am trying new recipes all the time.
My favorite things to cook
Seafood. Five course meals. During the week, quick but delectable.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Breakfast in bed on birthdays. When my children were small, the birthday person languished in bed, while the rest of the family made breakfast. Then we all would climb in bed and have breakfast in bed with the birthday person. Of course, sheets and all had to be washed before using again, but it was a fun family event!
My cooking triumphs
My Parties! I love to cook for others. Our anniversary parties on New Years Eve. I cook for 3 days preparing for 50-80 guests following a theme, such as mexican, italian, southern, etc.
My cooking tragedies
My Mother's birthday party, I scorched the mole. It was so inedible. The whole family had turned out including relatives from out of town.
