Son is a chef & daughter has 2 beautiful girls(3 & 6) that love to help Nana cook. Have a wonderful SIL that loves to cook also and a great DIL who doesn't(why she wed my son!)I teach special ed(in adult Correction Center)and enjoy crafts of many kinds. I thank GOD every day for my many, many blessings.
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna, Seafood gumbo, Spaghetti & meatballs, Pork roast (LOTS of garlic),anything with CHEESE, fresh Seafood,"Cheesed Olives" appetizers, beans(red, navy ,black, or kidney) and rice, Okra in any way.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Barbeques, Crawfish, crab, and shrimp "Boils"
My cooking triumphs
Doing the food prep for showers and parties.I cook a great turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. For some the university dept. where SIL & daughter work SWEARS that I make the best Deviled eggs in the world. I think they're OK, but I wouldn't put them in a contest.
My cooking tragedies
A GREAT pot of rice.(My mom made a perfect pot of rice Everytime! Every grain could be separated & was light and fluffy, never hard or gummy.) To live in SW Louisiana and not be able to do this is not a good thing to admit for a Home Ec. major.
