Into full BBQ mode!!
Jul. 4, 2011 8:25 am
Finally, some summer weather! What a rainy, blah June it was here in Vernon. I probably shouldn't complain though because soon the temperatures will start to soar to 40 plus degrees C and I'll be wishing for the rain! Thank goodness for the awesome lakes the Okanagan has!

BBQ season hit in early June with full force. I have probably made my ribs at lease three times already. Chicken, prawns, burgers and dogs, corn on the cob......If it's cookable on the stove, it's made its way to the grill. I concocted a new recipe for ribs made with a chipotle-lemon-tequila BBQ sauce with the hopes of winning a BBQ party with my local radio station (recipe to come).

Good times with the BBQ and more to come!

About Me
I am a nurse and am the mother to 3 fantastic young boys ages 13, 9, and 8
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy trying new recipes. There are not many dishes that I repeat regularly. They have to be really special to get placed in the Family Favorites Scrapbook that I have created. I make a killer lasagna and I my chili is to die for (in my opinion). I also have a rather extensive cookbook collection that I have to regularly weed out due to space constrictions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We live only a few blocks from my parents and we alternate each year who makes Thanksgiving and Christmas. Whoever does Thanksgiving has a rest for Christmas and vice versa.
My cooking tragedies
My husband broke the tip of my good Henkel's chef's knife trying to separate frozen sausages.
