Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2005
I am known in my family for making terrible cookies-- this recipe is no fail! These cookies really do taste like they are right from the bakery. My family really liked them a lot and told me to never lose this recipe! Thanks so much

Broccoli and Cheese Brunch Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2005
This was just OK... I believe this recipe could use a lot more flavor- it was very bland. I guess I just think this recipe lacks so much that I wouldn't waste my money to make it again

Pumpkin Crunch Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2004
This cake was very tasty! It honestly was a bit too rich for my personal taste- but everyone else seemed to really enjoy it- I have made it twice now! I added a graham cracker crust to mine and it was perfect- Thanks so much!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2004
This was great!! I took some advise from the reviews and lightly floured my roast and browned it on all sides before putting it into the slow cooker. For the "gravy" I used 1 can of low sodium cream of mushroom soup, 1 can of roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, and instead of water I used half beef broth, and half red cooking wine. It was FANTASTIC!! I just let it all cook all day when I was at work. I served it with slow cooker mashed potatoes and oatmeal molasses rolls (also from this site!) GREAT MEAL!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2004
This was the first recipe that I tried with my brand new bread machine...WOW!! I should have bought a bread machine a long time ago- I loved the way these rolls taste- I honestly was expecting them to be a little bit more sweet- but that was OK. Try these- they are pretty good.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2004
This bread was really good! It seems like it is a great basic recipe- and with a few additions it is perfect! I used half cup brown sugar and half cup white sugar, and added cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. For a little added touch I combined chopped walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter and put it on the top of my loaves- it made for a sweet and tasty crunchy crust.....PERFECT! I can't wait to give these away as gifts!

Creamy Mushroom Macaroni

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2004
I have never been a big macaroni lover- I always felt like it was missing something... lets just say I have found the very best tasting macaroni that I have ever tried. I basically halfed the recipe... I drained the cooked noodles, returned to the saucepan, added the processed cheese cubes until melted, then I used half a can of the new roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup,a nd cooked it through. I had previously shredded a half moon of extra sharp cheddar cheese. I added half of that to the saucepan and cooked until melted. I then put it all in a baking dish added a little milk and put the rest of the extra sharp cheese on top and sprinkled some Italian bread crumbs on top and baked it until all the cheese was melted and bubbling. Trust me this macaroni has the extra kick of flavor that we've all been looking for in this favorite comfort food dish. Try it! It's so full of flavor that you'll never get enough!

Maria's Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2004
This is a great "starter" recipe! I used bone-in chicken breast, took the skin off and let it marinate in Italian dressing while I was at work. I used 3 cloves of roasted garlic, and a little less than half of a sweet onion and put it in my mini chopper. I let the spinach cook with the garlic and onion and then added thinly sliced baby portobello mushrooms and Italian seasonings, onion powder, etc. I then mixed the spinach mixture in a bowl with low fat ricotta cheese and mozzarella- I left out the egg. I stuffed my chicken with this mixture, put it in a baking pan covered it with foil and baked @ 350 for 30 min- then I uncovered the chicken poured the sauce over it and baked it for 25 min.- then finally I topped the chicken with a slice of mozzarella and baked 10 min until cheese melted. This was FANTASTIC!!! Everyone loved it. I can not stress enough how good this was- I can't wait to make it again, Enjoy!!

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2004
I must admit- I didn't think that this would turn out very well- but I was totally wrong! It turned out great! I took some of the suggestions and cut back on some of the sugar and used 1/2 white sugar and 1/2 brown sugar- the taste was wonderful- not too sweet, just right. The only problem that I had was that it didn't really "look" all that great- I belive that I can fix that if I really try to distribute everything evenly and maybe add a little cinnamon or something to the top. Good stuff!

Down Home Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2004
This turned out OK...I guess it was pretty good. I made this with a chicken fried steak recipe that I also found on this site. My boyfriend came over with unexpected guest- and they all loved it! I heard nothing but good things come from their stuffed faces. I guess the only person who wasn't totally satisfied with the mac and cheese was me. I was wanting something more creamy and with a lot more flavor. I believe that this is a good "starter" recipe and I will just tweek around with it until I find a combination that I like. Thanks

Fresh Herb Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2004
These were not good at all!! I had a couple of surprise guest come over for Sunday dinner- these taste so bad that I couldn't serve these to my guest- thank goodness I had a few pop open cans of Pillsbury cressent rolls in the fridge. These rolls smell wonderful coming out of the oven- so for that I guess they deserve 1 star- but they taste horrible. I will not be making these EVER again. Don't waste your time and money.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2004
This was my first time making pumpkin bread and I must say that it didn't turn out like I expected. It was way too dry- I'm glad that I tried this one PRIOR to serving it at our harvest party-- thanks anyway

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2004
This was my first time making cheesecake- and I was happy with the results! I listened to most of the reviews and did the water bath and the special baking and everything- and my cheesecake still cracked- but the topping hide all of that. Everyone really enjoyed it- they couldn't believe that I actually made it from scratch. Outside of the crack in the middle it was perfect.

Hot Mexican Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2004
BIG MISTAKE!! I was unsure if I should try this recipe or not because of the mixed reviews- and I really should have stuck with my gut feeling. I had my boyfriends friends over for a mexican themed dinner yesterday- and this dip tasted horrible- and looked even worse. I'm glad we were all able to laugh it off and that the other dishes I made were really good-- I'm sorry, but I'd have to advise all to stay away from this one.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2004
GREAT!! This pizza crust was so wonderful! I had never made homemade pizza crust before- and I made this last night for dinner- my whole family was so happy- my boyfriend LOVED it- he even wanted to take it for his lunch today. I will never go back to buying store bought pizza crust again. Try this recipe- believe me- it's so easy to make and taste so good. This crust is ranked so high for a reason.
