Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2014
I really liked this recipe for the most part, however I used all colors of bells and each had a little different flavor.I also cooked my rice first but did not cook the meat until I put in oven. The only thing I added was some finely diced fresh tomatoes from our garden and that added a lot of freshness. did not precook bells,I just covered with foil and baked for approx.40minutes,removed foil added parmesan cheese and cooked until lightly browned****

Bowties with Italian Sausage in a Cream Basil Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2014
WOW!!this is now one of my families favorite recipes! I did change the sausage to J.C. Potters hot breakfast sausage simply because that's what we like!Everthing else I tried to follow closely but could not find but (no KIDDING)2 twigs of basil--so I used that and added 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil and that worked very well. I was lucky enough to have fresh garden tomatoes and believe fresh is always better if possible. This is a very addicting recipe and oh so good!!I gave dd and sil half (it Made A lot),Sil said he could eat the whole bowl--- We ALL agreed*****

Tom's Down To The Bone Pork Chops!

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2014
I really was surprised how well we liked this recipe. It was a nice change from our usual favorite slow fried. The recipe is very simple to follow and also uses basic pantry items along with the option to use your own seasonings. The amount of mayonnaise was spot on with no waste and the panko bread crumbs was, I thought, essential and stayed on very well! I did bake on cookie cooling rack on top of sheetpan, and I did not tent with foil, maybe that's why mine stayed crispy. Thanks gutpyle for a nice, tasty, moist and tender change of pace recipe---it will be done many more times ****

Swanny's Killer Fajitas

Reviewed: May 4, 2014
WOW,really tasty, simple recipe. This was recipe group selection this week and I'm sure glad I made it.Since it is just hubby and me this worked out perfect. The one thing I did different was to do a combo,so I added a small sirloin steak, thinly sliced and alittle more cayenne pepper.I really liked the use of only one skillet, genius.I served with a side of Mexican rice and sliced avocadoes, and will use this recipe in our regular rotation as we love Mexican food!!Thanks Huge!

Frozen Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
When I started making these I thought,"Gee,it would be easier to make a cheesecake",but I wanted to share with grandsons so I stayed with it and followed he recipe to the tee! Time came to make the cookies and the recipe left me to guess--so--I have a small ice cream scoop(don't laugh)and yes I made moon cookies!!I realized I wasn't going to get to many so I decided to drop by heaping tablespoons and sort of shape into ball as these do spread.perfect.I finished these on a Friday afternoon, and friday night, had to sample before delivering to grandsons, and they are tasty!Saturday, delivered,oh yeah these are goood!!Sunday daughter came by,so she had a sample, and yes these are really ,really goood!!!monday I asked hubby if there were any cookies left? Oh yeah I think theres two,so I went to get one and he said bring me the other one, well there was only one left but thankfully it was a moon cookie and we split it.Hubby said you need to make some more of these cause they keep getting better!!I said we can't eat these everyday----------but you sure want to*****

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
WOW!!! what a tasty little dish for someone who thought they didn't like black beans!I wouldn't buy them or try them, and then was gifted 2 cans.(ugh!) I searched recipes and found this--my thoughts were"Well, its easy, has good reviews& I won't waste too many ingredients!!"Boy, did I ever get lucky!! I followed the instructions until the second step, after I softened the onions,I removed them from the skillet. The second step I PURPOSELY BLACKENED the CORN & I think really enhanced the flavor!! I also did add some pre-cooked chicken(because of husband) and also added 1/2 teasp.of chili powder & cumin, and some mexican blend cheese along with the monterrey jack cheese called for. I cooked these on a flat-cast iron skillet & I served this with some mexican rice, guacamole, and sour cream and salsa on the side. My THANKS to EFASSE for a great 5 STAR recipe!!(Oh, and the liberty to add to the recipe, thank you!)

Springtime Strawberry Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
I had high hope for this quickie recipe, however,I will only give it 3stars as written.I did sub 3 drops of lemon extract for the lemon zest and used pecans instead of almonds, but I do not believe those changes affected the problems I had. First of all it was waaaay to sweet, and I would cut the sugar to 1cup (or less) as the preserves are already sweetened. My second issue was with the topping. I added 1/2cup rolled oats,1/4cupground pecans, and more flour( than the1/4cup called for)before I ever got the batter to even begin to crumble. Sorry,I guess I'm the loneranger on this one----
