Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Made it to the recipe (OK I added just a twinge more sausage) and it was great. I used San Marzano crushed tomatoes. Even our picky receptionist at worked raved. Easy and quick.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

I usually make the first try exactly to the recipe, but I just couldn't resist sprinkling a bit of garilc powder to the meat before browing. Anyway, it came out great! A tad labor intensive but worth it. I made it for my wife and she raved. It went well with roasted rosemary potatoes and a full bodied Cabrenet. If you want to make someone feel special, this is the ticket!

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Great comfort food. I try to always make the first batch to the letter of the recipe and I was not disapointed! Quick and simple...it was GREAT! I read the reviews form cooks who added potatoes and thought that indeed that would be a good addition, but for this first go around I whipped up a pan of fried potatoes for a side which reall complimented this dish. Would also go good with a side of baked apples. A crisp white wine is a good pairing.

Gumbo Style Chicken Creole

Made it exactly by the recipe...HOLY COW...it was great! Goes great over rice. If you have a lot of guests, just double the ingredients. (this doesn't work with a lot of recipes, but it fine's with this one) In addition to being super just as it is, it make a great base if you want to experiment. For instances I made a double batch with half chichen and half shrimp. My family and friends loved it. The ultimate comfort food!

Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

This is a great basic recipe that will take all sorts of modifications and still come out delicious. I pretty much went with the basic ingredient list but added three beef bouillon cubes, tomato paste, and lots of paprika. Definitely a keeper.
