Tangy Apple Chicken Loaf

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
Very tasty. A good bit of chopping, but worth it in the end. I followed the recipe exactly except for substituting fat free liquid coffeemate for the milk. I might leave the applesauce out of the glaze next time, the texture of it was a little odd for my tastes, but it is still good! Even my picky boyfriend liked it. A keeper! Made again, used water because I was out of milk. Couldn't tell the difference. Actually left the dijon out of the glaze and upped the honey to 3 tsp. Liked it much better that way.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
This is a great recipe. Easy to make with ingredients you always have on hand. Extremely tasty as is, but you could always make it spicier or sweeter if you wanted. Excellent overall!

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
I halved this recipe since I'm cooking for two. Next time I will make the full batch and freeze half. These are not exact, but are close to the meatballs found in our local Italian places in North Central West Virginia. I omitted the parsely because I didn't have any and used store bought grated Parmesan because that's what I had on hand. I did not fry, I boiled them in water and then cooked them in sauce. I use some of the water from the boil to add to my homeade sauce. Definitely try this with all three meats - the results are worth it!

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
I followed the recipe as posted except I omitted the walnuts and used 1/2 cup brown sugar plus one and a half cup white sugar. Came out moist and tasty. A very good recipe!

Nat's Buttery Cashew Crunch

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
Followed the recipe exactly and it came out perfect!! I can't stop eating it - that might be the only downside :) I had accidentally purchased a large quantity of unsalted cashews and this turned out to be a fantastic way to use them.

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
This is a great recipe! I used jumbo shrimp, so I needed to add more flour for dredging and coconut. Also, I didn't feel like dragging out the deep fryer so I just fried in a pan on the stovetop and they still came out wonderfully. Just as good as Outback! You will impress with this one. I also mixed up a dipping sauce with the suggested ingredients using dijon mustard and adding a tablespoon of honey as well as the juice of half an orange. Tasty!

Mary Mazzie's Anise Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
I have made these several times and they always come out wonderful - crisp on the outside, tender in the middle. My boyfriend would eat it as a cake before the slicing and second baking, if I would let him. Even those who think they don't like anise will like these.
