Apple Crumble Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
Great recipe! My boyfriend & I loved it! Only change I made was to mix the sugar & cinnamon with the apples & cooked it first & then reduced the sauce before pouring them into the pie crust & baking on the oven floor for the first 20 minutes! Absolutely loved it, thanks!

The Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
Great recipe! I added a little paprika, oregano & parsely to the whole mixture and it turned out great! Only thing was mine came out abit "wet" like it didn't set properly but I think that has to do with the frozen meat I used. But still, thanks!

Proper English Cottage Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
It's a pretty good recipe. But these changes HAVE to be made to make it better: 1) Reduce milk to 1/3 cup. 2) Instead of measuring out the cinammon, just sprinkle it over the meat is more than enough. 3) Sprinkle just a tablespoon of breadcrumbs over the Cheddar cheese for more dept in the texture. Other than that it was good!!!

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2007
Great recipe and so easy! I've been looking for a PB cookie recipe that's chewy & this is perfect. I do agree with some reviewers that it's a tad sweet, in future I will swap half the white sugar for brown, and add abt 3-4 tablespoons of flour. Oh and the original recipe yields like almost 70 cookies instead of 3 dozen. Halving the original recipe gave me 36. :)

All Day Versatile Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
It was really a bit too bland and too "tomato-y". I couldn't get the neck bones so I added extra ground beef, and even added 2 bell peppers to it. There was too much water so I had to cook the sauce for over 3 hours with the lid only half covering it so that the water could evaporate. It needs a bit more flavour so I had to add more basil, oregano, lots more parsely and even bit of salt and sugar. Was quite disappointed that it needed so many tweaks to make it tasty because the reviews really make it sound great. Still, it's a good jumping-off point for a basic sauce. Thanks anyway! :)

Grilled Portobello Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 27, 2007
I've known about this recipe and have been using it as an appetiser recipe for a long time. Occasionally I would toss up the peppers with a bit of pasta sauce. But a real treat would be to grill/bake it with a layer of mozarella cheese on top! HEAVENLY!

Maria's Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
Great recipe! My boyfriend and I loved it! I reduced the honey to 1/4 cup, as advised by other reviewers, added 1tbsp corn starch and 1 tsp crushed red pepper did the trick! :) Will definitely be making this over and over again!

Pan-Seared Chicken Breasts with Shallots

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
Great recipe! My boyfriend and I loved it! I marinated the chicken breasts the night before by rubbing salt, pepper and a bit of sesame salt into it and it tasted great! The other reviewers were right in saying that the sauce was a bit watery, but great tasting nonetheless. Thanks Amy! :)

Super Easy Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
Simple & absolutely easy recipe to follow and tastes good! My boyfriend hates celery so I substituted it by using yellow bell pepper and dicing it up to little pieces. The other reviewers were right in saying it's too sweet! I cut the sugar by half and it was still too sweet! It may have something to do with different brands of chilli sauce but I suggest a tablespoon (for serving of 6) is enough. Because during taste test while cooking, the sweetness will not come out till e after the flavours mix which can take up to an hour or two after the sauce is cooked. Would definitely make this again but I would suggest substituting about 20% of the chilli sauce with ketchup! And the tobasco sauce was a great idea! Thanks for the recipe still! :)
