Our household is Chilean/Filipino. I'm a mom to two wonderful little boys; ages 8 and 4.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with avocados. I also make a stellar vegetable "dump" soup, love grilling everything, and am kind of a cupcake freak.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Italian mother's spaghetti. Her mother made the most wonderful sauce and she passed away with the recipe, but my mom has worked so hard to recreate it and it's so darn close and reminds me of my "granny baby" and I love eating it. :)
My cooking triumphs
I try to create a recipe or try a new one from this website at least once a week.
My cooking tragedies
I'm not a great baker, but I've been told I make a rad cupcake!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints
Made these last night. The only changes to the recipe I made was that I added a little extra almond extract (used pure not imitation), and I also didn't mix the butter and sugar first. I added everything to my bowl all at once. They tasted absolutely wonderful, but were very very flat. Next time I'll be following the recipe with more precision.

Avocado Blast
I am an avocado fanatic and so I thought I would absolutely love this. I omitted the dry milk and added regular milk and really liked the consistency. The flavor was ok. I think my brain is so programmed to eat the avocado as a savory food and not a sweet food, that it made this shake really odd. I think if I drink enough of them, I could get used to it. :)
