Sweet and Sour Pork III

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
WOW!! My first time frying anything -- this was an easy recipe. As another reviewer advised, I used pork tenderloin. The bite size pieces were amazing even before the sweet and sour sauce was made -- I was nibbling away at the pieces -- so good!! This goes so well with the Chicken Chow Mein recipe from this site. (I used rice vermicelli noodles) SO, SO GOOD!

Chicken Chow Mein

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
This was phenomenal!! I didn't use as much butter -- and boiled 4 chicken breasts (I like my protein!) ahead of time. I used mushrooms and canned corn because I hate baby corn. I used rice vermicelli soaked in chicken broth -- could have used plain water though it tasted quite chicken-y enough! This went so AWESOME with the Sweet and Sour Pork III from this site. Holy Hannah, I found a way to satiate my Chinese food craving!

Spinach and Potato Frittata

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
Potatoes are plain, so next time I'm going to use other people's advice and mix them in olive oil/spice mix before putting in the skillet. I doubled the spinach, threw in some sundried tomatoes and used goat cheese as well. Fool-proof recipe and I can't wait to try other versions!

Spaghetti Squash Saute

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
SO good and easy -- As I am a lazy cook, I didn't cook onion/garlic in butter. I just put some minced garlic (from Costco) on the shredded squash, fresh basil, salt, pepper, and grated fresh Parmesan. YUM!

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

This recipe is perfect just as it is! Delicious -- I think next time I might add more nuts/sunflower seeds/whatever -- fool proof recipe! Thanks for this. :)

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
The chicken was incredibly tender and delicious -- I almost wanted to stop the recipe right there and just eat the chicken! WOW -- I will be making just the chicken like this again for sure. I didn't have chili beans so I used 1 can of dark red kidney beans and 1 can of mixed beans (chick peas, black eyed peas, etc.). Make sure you have a huge pot -- my biggest pot was barely big enough to hold everything. This is so delicious!!! For me it is actully two recipes in one. I cannot rave enough about how falling-apart tender and delicious the chicken was. I can't wait to make chicken dinner next time. Thanks for an awesome recipe!!!

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2007
This recipe is bland. I tried making it twice because of all the rave reviews, but it just has no flavour. The first time I followed the directions exactly; the second time I added 1/2 cup cilantro and lime juice, but the results yielded the same absence of flavour. I found myself rereading all the positive comments and wondering if I wsa doing something wrong. I feel a little guilty about rating this dish two stars when so many others truly enjoy it. No matter how much I tried to convince myself, I still could not coax out any flavour from this salsa. It is a healthy dish, but I will not be making this again.

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: May 23, 2007
Finally!! A rice dish that has some flavour! :) :) I did what others suggested and added the spices to the olive oil. I dissolved some Knorr vegetable broth and threw the whole works into the rice cooker. When it was done, I added the black beans. It was great, easy, and I will be making it again.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
This was so easy to prepare, was delicious and looked just like the picture!! The only change I will make next time will be to halve the cheese. I used 3 cups of a jack/cheddar/mozarella blend and while delicious, it was too heavy for me -- mind you I ate every bite! Thanks for a delicious recipe!!

Chicken Hurry

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
Great and easy to make! This is definately a man-pleaser. My boyfriend just loved it -- I did too. I am not a cook at all, so anything that is easy to prepare and tastes good gets 5 stars from me. As it's just the two of us, I usd the same amount of sauce on two big chicken breasts -- it was fab.

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
Excellent!! My boyfriend's new favourite meal! I followed the suggestions made by other people: 1. Used salsa instead of tomato sauce 2. Omitted water. 3. Didn't have green chilies, but I'll use them mext time! 4. Used more cheese. 5. Made taco sauce recipe from "googling" Taco Bell sauce. 6. Added refried beans to the tortillas before I added the chicken mixture. This was such a great meal. I am a novice tortilla - roller, and even the big square packages that were my enchiladas turned out great.

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
I made this for dinner last night (just me and my boyfriend) and it was superb! I followed the recipe exactly and wouldn't change a thing! This is the kind of salad that I would pay big $$$ for at a nice restaurant -- thanks!

Rice with Herbes de Provence

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
I made this last night and my boyfriend loved it. I used Thai rice and usually 1 1/4 cups of water. For this recipe, I used 1 1/2 cups of Knorr instant vegetable broth. It was excellent, but I am going to use two cups as suggested next time. I sauteed onions and frozen French green beans in olive oil and they tasted awesome mixed in with the rice. Thanks for an easy and tasty rice recipe!

Amy's Spicy Beans and Rice

Reviewed: May 3, 2007
I am a huge fan of EASY, fast, and nutritious meals -- and this is one of them! The only changes I made were to use bottled peppers like someone else mentioned in the reviews; eliminated the olives (just because I don't like them); and used Thai long grain rice (since I have a gigantic bag of the stuff). I don't like super hot meals, but this dish was a flavourful heat. I found myself adding a bit more jalapenos each time! Don't make the mistake I did at first though -- I drained the black beans. It was still good but it is oh so delicious on rice with more sauce! I make a pile of this stuff, and dole it out as a snack, sidedish, or main meal with salad. I also did what someone else suggested: sautee some onions and garlic and add it to the beans -- YUM!! Thanks for a quick recipe with minimum dishes to clean up afterwards!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 3, 2007
This is a staple meal for my home!! It is so easy and fast to make -- a huge timesaver with lots of flavour too. I assemble it in the morning, then pop it in the oven for exactly 1 hour when I'm ready. I nuke some veggies and make some rice to go with this -- my boyfriend absolutely loves this meatloaf!! This recipe was the reason I became a member of allrecipes!!!
