Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
This icing works marvelously; I took the almond extract out because I hate the flavour, and just replaced it with water. works great, hardens great, colours great, tastes great.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
Perfect! Absolutely the best sugar cookie recipe I've ever tried. Thank you so much for putting an end to the days of dry flavourless cookies.

Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
I followed the advice of everyone here, but I only used a Tsp of baking powder. Also, reduced the salt to a pinch, and added about a tsp of vanilla. Still, the base taste of these pancakes leaves something to be desired. I'm still looking for a good base for pancakes; this one wasn't what I was looking for.

Creamy Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
This recipe was one that I decided to try because it seemed easy and I had all the ingredients in the house. Along with what other raters have to say, I found it quite waxy tasting when in the bowl, but when I tried it spread thinly on a cupcake, it tasted fine. I probably wouldn't be making it again, as there's nothing extraordinary about it and it just wasn't what I was looking for.

Crazy Cake

Very light and wonderful chocolate cake. I have to say that I'm a skeptic turned fanatic of this recipe. Works wonders time and time again!

Cowboy Hash

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2007
I took my cues from other reviews and added garlic & cumin while browning the beef. I also decided to add cut up tenderized strip steak instead of ground beef, and a bit of tomato sauce. Like others have said, a good base but alone it leaves something to be desired.

Cheese, Chicken, and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
I really enjoyed this recipe, but I made some major changes. I didn't have a lot of time and went with what I had available in the house at the moment, so I substituted the cream of chicken soup for cream of broccoli. I did cook the chicken in the microwave in about a quarter of the soup. I found that this made chicken less dry and more flavourful. I also omitted the breadcrumbs, just for personal preference. I'm not a fan of breadtopped casseroles. Good and easy recipe for me to make relatively quickly and with very little planning in advance, which is hard to do with an infant. I will be making this recipe again and like the simplicity, as it adds room for substitutions.
