I made this as written and it was delicious. No need to add anything extra since the flavor was perfect.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2014
These are SO good. My kids turned their noses up when they saw it but tried it and asked me to make more. I've been eating Kale in a salad and didn't know it was so yummy baked.

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
I think this could've used more sauce; it was a little on the bland side. Maybe increase everything except the pasta by 50%? My family loved it, however.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
I made it exactly as written and also used skim for the milk. It was delicious. Soften the cream cheese for about 30 seconds or so in the microwave to make it soft and easier to whip before adding the other ingredients. Next time I will use everything fat free/low fat to make it more Weight Watchers friendly.

Easy Lasagna II

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
This is delicious. I didn't think it'd be this good because it was so simple/easy to make. This will now be my lasagna recipe! I did substitute 15 oz. low fat ricotta for the cottage cheese. I wouldn't mind trying it with cottage cheese sometime.

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Delicious! Even my fussy child liked it. I altered this recipe a bit though. I bought the big glass jar of ready mixed beans and intermixed the recipe on that label with this one. Did 6 cups of beef broth, added tsp of mustard powder, salt, pepper, can of green beans, can of roasted chopped tomatoes, cubed ham, chopped bunch of green onions, garlic, and the 2 bay leaves)

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
I made these exactly as the recipe says. It needed more salt, less onion and/or probably some garlic and cheese.

These are STRONG! I would cut the vodka in half next time.

Butter Brickle Frozen Delight

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
I'm giving this a 5 since technically I didn't make this like I was supposed to. I used margarine instead of butter- didn't think it'd make much of a difference but it DOES- oh well, live and learn. and the freezing taking SEVERAL hours is no joke....

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
This is delicious! I too toasted the sesame seeds and almonds at 350 for 10 min. w/ no butter, used 1/2 cup light olive oil instead of veg. oil, and kept sugar the same as called for, 1/2 cup, otherwise it was too vinegary. I added feta cheese to the dressing mixture too.

I made this with venison burger and ate almost half of it by myself! I even think my kids would love this; trying this again for sure.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
I really didn't think these were too difficult to make. I flattened the chocolate dough really well then put the peanut butter ball in the middle, squished it slightly then wrapped it up w/ the chocolate like a present. Delicious!!

One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
Out of fairness, I really couldn't give this any less than 5 stars since I didn't make it exactly as the recipe calls for. I substituted the 12 tbsp of Coco and 3 tbsp oil for the unsweetened chocolate. Boxed brownies are much better.

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
I made it just as directed (well, omitted one cream cheese and reduced sugar to 3/4 cup and increased cool whip to 12 oz. Used strawberry pie filling instead of glaze.) and it was fabulous. I then made it w/ yellow cake, blueberries, blueberry pie filling and the exact rest of the ingredients (except strawberries/glaze) and excellent also- just like blueberry cheesecake!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
We agree these are better than Reese's. I doubled the recipe and these were very thick- delicious! I also reduced the butter by 1/4 and still was great but figured could've just threw it all in since the calories are crazy-high no matter what.

Crispy Chocolate Log

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
Watch the marshmallows in the microwave! I *kind of* covered mine and there was a sticky mess all over. Next time I will use milk chocolate chips and peanut butter chips. Semisweet and butterscotch are just too sweet for me (and I have a major sweet tooth!). Another idea is use chocolate Rice Krispies with just peanut butter chips. mmmm...

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
Delicious! I made this the day of and substituted half of the sour cream for whole milk, used 1 tsp garlic powder along w/ the teaspoon of onion powder and boiled the potatoes in beef boullion. Usually I have to add extra spices because it's too bland but this way was PERFECT!

Chinese Cabbage Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
This was delicious. It reminded me a lot of broccoli salad. Next time I'll try olive oil in place of the veg. oil and either reduce the sugar or use splenda. Excellent!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
Use the full amount of sugar- substitute little, if any of it, with brown sugar. Not sweet enough with one cup white, one cup brown.

Zucchini Herb Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
To add to my below review: I used the exact amount of spice as called for and neither my husband nor I thought it was bland. Very good. I used mozzarella instead of cheddar to lower the fat content. Next time I'll add mushrooms. This is mostly veggies with just a little rice. Very healthy!
