Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
This is really good! I used ground turkey and added some worcestershire sauce. I didn't think it needed salt...also, I found it wasn't really necessary to simmer the mixture for 30 minutes.

Angel Food Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I was kind of nervous about making this because I've never made candy before, but it really was quite simple! And, it's delicious! It tastes a lot like Crunchies, a favorite of mine. I took other reviewers advice and sifted the baking soda, and i think it really is important to be patient when it comes to the candy reaching 300 degrees.

Baked Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
This so good...I made it for an office party and everyone loved it! I only used 4 cups of shredded cheddar, and that seemed to be plenty.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
This is really fantastic, and I will definitely make this again! The only addition I made was adding some mushrooms and about 1/4 cup red wine. The amount of flour is perfect.

Butterfinger Chunkies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
I will definitely be making these again! I didn't find them to be greasy at all. I made 36 smallish cookies that had crispy edges but a chewy center. I did use parchment paper, as other reviewers suggested. Mine took about 13 minutes to bake, and I found that rotating the baking sheet halfway through helped with baking the cookies evenly.

This is amazing! I added some crumbled bacon, otherwise made exactly as stated. The whole thing came together in less than 20 minutes.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
These are amazingly good, and despite other reviews, I found them really easy to make and not too time-consuming. I didn't flour my hands when rolling the balls, but I did work quickly, as the butter in the dough will soften from the heat of your hands, making it a bit sticky. I used Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate cocoa powder and found the chocolate flavor to be just right. They're pretty hardy cookies--although I think I made mine a litte bigger than the suggested size in the recipe. I baked mine for 8 minutes, and they came out soft and moist.

Chocolate Babka

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
Wow...this bread tastes amazing! I really thought it wasn't going to turn out because of multiple mishaps on my part. I was also a bit concerned because the recipe calls for just dry active yeast, not fast acting, and the directions don't tell you to proof the yeast. My bread actually didn't rise that much, let alone double in size before punching it down, but I decided to follow through with the recipe anyway, and I'm glad I did!

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
I love that this uses fresh broccoli! Per other reviews, I didn't add the salt and thought it was perfect. Also, I used cheddar and parmesan because that's what I had on hand. I would imagine you could use any cheese and have this be delicious!

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
So easy and delicious!! Other than cutting back on the salt, I made no changes. The bread has a nice crispy, crust, and soft, chewy center. My bread was done perfectly after 50 minutes.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
Perfectly chewy and moist...I added chocolate chips and omitted the cinnamon, but other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. My cookies did, however, take approximately 13-14 minutes to bake.

Cinnamon Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I highly recommend this recipe! The flavor is outstanding, and the cake has a moist, tender crumb. The cinnamon really makes this cake special. The frosting is really good too...not too sweet.

Kiki's Borracho (Drunken) Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I wasn't really crazy about the flavor, but that's just because I'm not a huge fan of cooking with beer, but with that being said, everyone else loved this and thought the flavor was great.

Classic Bran Muffins

I love these! They're good as is, but you can also play around with them...I've add mashed bananas and also used applesauce instead of oil. They also come out soft and moist.

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I was debating whether I should make this because I wasn't sure if I would like the flavor combo. I made it, and I'm so glad I did. The cinnamon/beef flavor is unique, but it somehow goes together really well.

Spinach Lentil Soup

This is so good and easy...I've made this with both water and chicken broth, and I definitely recommend using chicken broth because it really boosts the flavor. I've also added turkey kielbasa, and it's delicious.

Italian Pinwheel Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
These are excellent. The outside is a little crispy, while the inside is soft and tender. Even without the herb/butter mixture, this dough would make great rolls!
