Peach Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
Overall...very good recipe. Easy to assemble, followed the 15 mins @ 450 then 30 @ 350, added the tbsl of cornstarch as others suggested. Looked BEAUTIFUL when it came out of the oven. I never made a peach pie before and was quite proud of myself....mission accomplished! Almost....I ended up with WAY too much liquid, but crisis averted....turned it into a wonderful cobbler and topped with some vanilla ice cream!! I'm pretty sure that the excess liquid was my fault though....I used peaches I froze last year and they were only about 1/2 thawed when I made the pie. I didn't account properly for all the excess liquid I'd get. Will definitely keep this and use it again...with fresh peaches next time!

Four Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Make this tonight and it turned out great. I had frozen some heavy cream, which I defrosted in the microwave. I was concerned that it would get watery, but it didn't. I also didn't have the exact cheeses the recipe called for, so I used a combination of parmesean, swiss, smoked gouda, & feta along with a touch of garlic powder & black pepper. It turned out beautifully...which says a lot for me. (I'm not that good at altering receipes.) Put it over a comination of Radiatore pasta and steamed asparagus. The Radiatore pasta held the sauce perfectly. This kept my 15 & 3 year old boys happy with a new pasta combination. The other plus with this recipe is that it was very easy & quick to put together on a busy karate night for our family. Thank you so much for the recipe!!!!!

Sweet Onion Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
Made this last night for dinner and it turned out wonderful. My husband raved about it, my 2 year old ate it (he left the pork chop & salad, but ate this), and I was able to eat it without it upsetting my stomach (I am 13 weeks pregnant)! I took some of the leftovers today to work and it reheated very well. The only change I made was to use evaporated milk in place of the whole milk since I was already opening a can for another recipe. This is defintely something I will make again!! Great recipe!!!!

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
These were awesome! I made a double batch of them for Euchre night a few weeks ago. By the end of the evening, they were almost completely gone. I prepared them earlier in the day and just put them in the oven before guests arrived. Great for playing cards since they were on toothpicks....didn't get our hands dirty :-)

Carrot Souffle

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
Great recipe! My only adjustment was to cut the sugar back, as suggested by others. My 13 month old loves carrots, so this was a great way to do carrots in a new way for him. I got good reviews from my husband too....he doesn't usually say too much, so that's a good thing. These re-heat really well too!

Stuffed Shells IV

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
This was awesome! I too substituted 1 cup of ricotta for 1 cup of cottage cheese and added some Italian seasoning. It definitely passes the kid-test. My 15 year old stepson had 7 shells in 1 sitting and our 1 year old downed 1 1/2! The shells turn out very pretty, so it makes for great presentation too. I've already shared the recipe with several co-workers. This also re-heats well.

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
This is by far the best and easiest cream of crab recipe around. I'm originally from the east coast now living in the mid west and you just can't find good crab soup in Indiana. My step dad sends my Maryland crab from home and I make this on a whim. I've used all different types of crab...usually whatever's on sale and it's always great! I even had cravings for this soup in the middle of summer while pregnant...easy enough to whip together over a lunch hour.

Mom's Baked Beans II

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
Very good recipe. I made a double batch for my husband's suprise birthday party - got it prepped in the morning and set the oven timer to come on before we got home. Everyone loved it. Reheated well the next day too.
