I used this recipe as the base to make Lasagna for my soldier son who asked for Lasagna when he came home for a short visit on his way through to a new military station. We like our dishes rich and rather spicy, so I added crushed red pepper, cayenne pepper, extra basil, fresh and dried,to the red pasta sauce which I doubled, also I used no meat in this recipe at all. I added cream cheese and sour cream to the ricotta with parsley, extra amounts of the cheeses and an extra egg. My family raved about the flavor, and this was truly the best lasagna that I've ever made. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the amounts of extras that I added.
