I am a mom of 3 boys. I work as a stylist in my home. I sometimes have more time than others to cook for my family.
My favorite things to cook
I married at 20 and knew how to use a microwave and do small meals. Now I like to make anything from quick and easy to holiday sit down dinners. My favorite meal is Eggplant Parmesan. It is time consuming to make though. I usually eat the fried eggplants before they make it into the pan.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Usually around the holidays I get excited for our meals. Last year I did some recipes from this site for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved the dinner. I had people asking for the recipes. At Christmas I did some repeat casseroles, since they were a hit at Thanksgiving. I like to make Matzo Ball soup, pierogies and some other dishes that aren't the same old thing.

Usually during the holidays I seem to make great dinners and dishes..
My cooking tragedies
There are to many to list. This is how we all learn, isn't it? After moving from New York to Tennessee, I tried fried green tomatoes for my southern born husband. They weren't good. I got some advice from a friend, and tried it again. They were much better the second time.

Eileen's Meatloaf
My kids really liked this recipe. I was surprised how the sourcream put such a wonderful twist to meatloaf. I will use this reciepe for all my meatloaves in the future.

Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Pasta Shells
I chose this recipe because it recieved 4 stars out of 43 reviews. I was suprised how it turned out. I think it was allright. It wasn't the greatest meal I have made. I have had better. I would not make this recipe again without changing it. I think I would put in sausage that was precooked in olive oil. The fennel seemed to taste "off" with the meat missing. This also adds the right amount of fat needed for a certain flavor, that I felt was missing. I also think adding mozzerella would help.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey
This was the best Turkey we ever had. Thanksgiving or not I will always do this recipe whenever I make a turkey.
