Fudgy Brownies I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
the crusty top made them messy to cut but extra delicious! i baked mine about 33 minutes because they seemed to be getting over done, but under the crusty top they were still fudgy and moist

Chicken Noodle Salad with Peanut-Ginger Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I was looking for an Asian-inspired dressing for a green salad I made with lettuce, carrots, cukes, kohlrabi, fried onions, cashews, and grilled teriyaki chicken. This dressing was perfect! I cannot wait to try making chicken satay skewers and dipping them in this sauce. I liked the spice level too, with the chili-garlic sauce! I have made peanut sauce before with pretty good results, but I will keep this recipe at hand from now on. Great job!

Gyoza

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
These are wonderful! I had no idea you could make potstickers at home! So much better than frozen too. My husband was super impressed. I like dipping them in a very simple sauce, made by mixing brown sugar, soy sauce, and rice wine vinegar. I love them!

Cream Filled Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
These are great! I followed the recipe to a T, the only exception being I used 1/2C butter for the filling instead of half butter, half shortening. The lightly sweet cupcake paired with the super sweet cream is delicious. I am so glad I was not swayed by some other reviewers' opinions of the cake as dry or not chocolatey enough; it was perfect for this application- so much better than a store bought mix, plus it makes more! I was surprised by how easy and fun it was to fill the cupcakes with the pastry bag. I went in from the top and covered the hole with a chocolate glaze. Can't wait to watch how fast they go at the bake sale tomorrow!

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
This recipe is perfect as is! I baked them closer to 20 minutes than 30. Best brownies I have ever had, and brownies are my favorite dessert! I will never buy a mix again!

Spicy Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
Yumm!! I love this soup! I didn't add the lemon juice yet, I need to get some from the store but even without it, this is a 5 star recipe! I really recommend buying the red curry paste- Thai Kitchen brand- it seems expensive for such a little jar, but once you use it in one recipe you will realize it is magic and find tons of other uses for it! Powdered spices can't compare! Yum yum I might eat the whole pot since my husband swears he hates sweet potatoes, but I have a feeling he is going to convert when he smells this! p.s. look for lite coconut milk, it's worth saving those calories!

Mocha Meringues

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
what's wrong with these? they sounded so promising i think the amount of sugar is off, now that i look at other meringue recipes. sugar helps stiffen the egg whites and give them that shiny look. maybe they would have held their shape better

Sweet and Sour Meatballs I

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
My mom has been making these for Christmas parties as long as I can remember. It doesn't matter if you make meatballs or turkey balls, the sauce is what counts! Even with so few ingredients, people can never pinpoint what is in this uncommonly tasty sauce!

Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2007
Thank you! I had a very similar recipe in a book at my Mom's house (far away) and I am so glad you put it up on this site! I was just looking for a way to use my zucchini and stumbled on this; I have to say thanks for posting! MMM can't wait to make it again!

Fabulous Cilantro Pesto

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2007
Wow! Finally someone who loves garlic as much as me and my boyfriend! I add pickled jalepenos and skip the cayenne. Use this as a pizza sauce with some fajita style onions and peppers, some yummy steak or chicken, and some fresh salsa and you have my favorite CPK pizza! (Don't remember the name-- haven't had to go back there in a while!)

Banana Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
Surprisingly good!It fit my craving and severe lack of ingredients-- no butter or oil, no applesauce to sub. I had no blueberries so I cut up a can of dark sweet cherries (which turned them blue!) and I used 3 whole eggs and 1/2whole wheat, 1/2 regular flour. Didn't measure the bananas, just mashed up 3 of them. Added a handful of chocolate chips and a crunchy topping of granola cereal with some extra sugar and cinnamon. Delicious!! Especially when warm!
