I wanted to give this three stars because it was so much trouble to keep the patties from crumbling apart. They just completely fell apart as I was placing them on the plate. However, I love the flavor of this cornbread patty and I will definitely keep the recipe to play with later. I might try some different types of corn meal, maybe add a bit of flour, and egg or something to see if it will hold together better.

Tarte aux Moutarde (French Tomato and Mustard Pie)

I really, really liked this recipe. It is simple to make and a wonderful use of fresh summer tomatoes. This will definitely make it into my permanent recipe stash and will be brought out every summer.

Acorn Squash Butter

Tastes very similar to apple butter. I broke my blender in the middle of the process so mine came out a little chunkier than intended I think but it was really good.

I grilled this instead of baking it in a foil packet as the recipes says. I think I should have marinated it much longer since I was grilling. However, it had a great flavor and we had no leftovers.

Oven Fried Okra

Being a southern gal, I'm a big fan of okra. I thought this recipe was really good. My only complaint was that it was a bit dry. I didn't have the panko bread crumbs so I used plain, I'm not sure if that would make a difference or not. I'm definitely going to try this again tweaking the oven and such. It's definitely worth keeping a playing around with.

Restaurant Style Beef and Broccoli

Very good. The only modification I made was to add a couple of chili peppers into the oil with the ginger and garlic at the beginning of the recipe. That gave it just a little heat. We like thing a little spicy in our family. However, it would have been just as good without it and will definitely be added to my collection.

Easy Spicy Thai Slow Cooker Chicken

I made this dish this week for my son and my Thai exchange student. I wanted to cook something that would meet our American taste as well as satisfy his Thai cravings. I followed the recipe exactly. It was promptly named "nasty chicken" by my exchange student and my son and has been the joke of our house for a week. It did get eaten with generous amounts of BBQ sauce. I'm giving it 2 stars because if you are not looking for a "Thai" dish it is palatable for most American tastes. It was easy to make as the title says. However, if you are looking for a "Thai" meal this does NOT do the trick.

Cinnamon Brownies

I loved the flavor of these brownies. The texture was somewhat dry. The recipe warned not to over bake. I baked them for the time stated on the recipe but I'm wondering if I should have taken them out earlier.

Glazed Apple Cookies

This cookie is just right. The only problem I had was that when I stored them in a container they became really soft and cake like. I think they are best left on the counter and eaten with in a day or so.

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

I didn't care for this as much as I thought I might. It was good but didn't "Wow" me. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood. Probably tuna casserole isn't a "wow" kind of dish. ;) However, my son devoured the entire casserole by himself (minus one serving for me). All in all it was a hit.
