Campbell's Jambalaya

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
We love this recipe, and I've made some changes that make it a super easy dinner. Confession: The first time I made this, I had none of the veggies or tomatoes on hand. I did, however, have a jar of chunky vegetable spaghetti sauce - in it went! This is actually how I make this all the time now. Just the broth, meats (I generally don't add shrimp), a jar of chunky veggie spaghetti sauce, seasonings, rice and sometimes any bell pepper or other vegetables I have around. I've found that this also makes a great freezer meal. I combine everything except the rice in a gallon sized freezer bag and freeze it for later use. When I'm ready to cook it, I thaw it and put it all in a pot, add the cup of rice, and simmer 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked. Comes out perfect and makes my weeknights much easier!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
Absolutely the best made-from-scratch chocolate cake I've ever had. I followed the recipe exactly and the cake came out so flavorful and so moist! I baked mine in a bundt cake pan for about 50 minutes and it was perfect.

Nana's Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
This is a great apple crisp! I used 1/2 cup white sugar + 1/2 cup brown sugar instead of a full cup of white sugar. I also used just one tablespoon of cinnamon since that was all I had left. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly - my husband said this was even better than his mother's apple crisp that he grew up eating. Thanks for a great recipe!

Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
These are great! We made them last night and they were a hit with everyone. I mixed up a gluten free batch and a regular batch (both were great!). I put batter in drinking glasses as suggested and then put them in the fridge to chill while the oil heated up. I tried to keep my oil around 375, and my corn dogs were cooked all the way through in only 3-4 minutes. I think we might make these again tonight - they're delicious and fun to make! Thanks for the recipe!

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
I have been using this recipe for several months now substituting gluten-free flour to make gluten free pizza for my husband, and he always raves about it. I just recently made it non-gluten free for myself, and it is amazing! My brother-in-law is also gluten-intolerant and said that this pizza is better than any gluten-free pizza he's had at a restaurant. I've made several batches of this dough (both gluten free and regular) and frozen them for later use. I pull them out and thaw them, and they're just as good as if they were freshly made. If I'm not in a hurry, then to make it even easier I just dump everything in my bread machine and hit the dough setting. Quick, easy, delicious dinner! I doubt I'll ever go out for pizza again!

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
I LOVE bread, but I've never had any luck at all with rolls or biscuits. I decided to give this recipe a shot though because it looked easy enough, and now I can say that as a bread 'connoisseur' who until now hasn't been able to make good bread herself, these are awesome! I followed the recipe exactly except I added the salt to the flour, not the wet ingredients. I did add some extra flour, but I left my dough very sticky - so sticky that I couldn't actually shape it into balls. To 'shape' my rolls, I just kind of dropped dollops of dough onto my cookie sheet. =) I brushed them with a beaten egg before baking to brown the tops and then put some butter on them as soon as they came out of the oven. They were perfect and delicious - definitely not dry or heavy. I will absolutely make these over and over.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
I decided to go ahead and give this recipe 5 stars. Some reviewers knocked off one star because it still tastes like cake mix. Of course it does, it IS cake mix, just with a few extras thrown in. If you're looking for a 'from scratch' taste, this probably won't do it for you, but if you want a delicious, moist, EASY chocolate cake, this is definitely it! I topped it off with Satiny Chocolate Glaze (also from this site) and drizzled milk chocolate over that. Everyone loved it, and even though I'm one of those who prefers cakes from scratch, I will still be making this again. It's too easy and too good not to.

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
This is THE glaze I've been looking for. This stuff is perfect! I was looking for a glaze that wouldn't get too hard, but also one that would 'cling' to the cake and not run everywhere. It firms up just enough - not too hard or too soft or runny. I made it with white chocolate chips and put it on the Too Much Chocolate Cake (also from this site) and drizzled milk chocolate over it. It tastes good, and looks great! I'll be using this over and over again.

Southern Chess Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
This is one of my absolute favorite desserts, and this recipe does not disappoint! I made a 'test' batch of these to make sure it was what I was looking for, and I had to try really hard not to eat the whole pan myself - SO good!

Smooth and Creamy Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
So good, and SO rich! Not necessarily a bad thing, but next time I may try to alter it just a tad. But only a tad, and yes, there WILL be a next time!

Peanut Butter Apple Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
This is my favorite apple dip now, and it takes NO time to whip up! I love apples and peanut butter and, this is even better. I added a little extra milk to make it just a little creamier. I make the whole batch and keep it in the fridge, but it never lasts more than a day or two!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
The first time I made this, my husband said he'd take this over The Cheesecake Factory any day. This is my only cheesecake recipe now! Assuming you do everything correctly, it turns out PERFECT. It's an awesome base recipe for adding extras to as well.

Savory Grilled Corn

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
This corn is amazing! My husband and I love it. I bake it in the oven at 400 for 30 minutes since I don't always feel like firing up the grill just for corn, and it's just as good. Apparently it makes for good dip too - once I went to put the corn on the grill, and when I came back in everyone was using the leftover spread as a veggie dip!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
I made these as directed, but instead of sprinkling Oreo crumbs over the chocolate-covered balls, I rolled them so they were completely covered in Oreo crumbs. Absolutely delicious! I almost made myself sick on these! I took them to a Christmas party and everyone there loved them, too. I will definitely be making them again.
