World's Best Pasta Sauce!

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
This is my go to spaghetti sauce. I have always made the lasagna and always make extra sauce to freeze. My only change is to use fresh basil! I just can't say enough about this recipe, it really is one of the best!

Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2012
I have cooked this twice. Once using tradintonal beef and once using turkey. The turkey burgers were ok, but when using regular beef they were fantastic!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
This is a great recipe. I wouldn't change a thing. What makes it even better that it is such a simple recipe packed with flavor. I was wanting to cook last night but was not wanting to go to the store for anything and the added bonus with this is most people probably have all the ingredients on hand! This will become a regular in my house for a fast, easy, and packed full of flavor meal!

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
Love this recipe as is. I made no changes and it comes out so flavorful and tender. However, if someone doesn't like red wine they aren't going to like this dish as the wine is noticeable, and in my opinion is what makes it so tasty.

Roasted Yams

These were AMAZING. I couldn't stop eating them. I did find the hint about putting everything in a ziploc bag super helpful. Would not change a thing!

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
This was a great recipe. I did change it a bit though based on other suggestions. Perhaps, I made it in a way that broke the authenticity of it, but it was super tasty, and really that is all that matters. With that being said, I added 2 stalks celery with my onion. Rather than water, I used 4 cups chicken broth, 1 cup red cooking wine (will reduce to 1/2 cup next time, I think). I also added carrots with the tomato sauce etc, when if I was going to add them I probably should have threw them in with the the onions and celery.... they didn't soften very much but were still good, HOWEVER, I think the soup would be better without them so next time I most likely won't add. This is going in to my winter soup rotation. Healthy, hearty, and filling.... what more could I ask for?

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
This was a really great recipe and so easy. I added about 3TBS onions. And only used 1 cup of rice and same amount of liquids it called for. Next time I will reduce the water a little. Follow the suggestions of covering for 20 minutes and let sit for 5 minutes without removing the lid. It should come out perfect that way.

You have to like the balsamic flavor to enjoy this chicken. It has lots of flavor and is great served with pasta.

Chicken Enchilada Slow Cooker Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
This soup will go into my winter soup rotation. I used three fresh chilis diced and next time will add a 4th. I also used about a half a can more chicken broth because I had 1.5 pounds of chicken. I threw in a few frozen green beans that I needed to use up and next time will add more and/or will add pinto or black beans as other suggested. I served with a bit of shredded cheese, however, this soup really doesn't need anything extra! Great recipe!

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
Great base recipe. I used cheddar cheese, but next time will use the cheese the recipe calls for. Also, I added ham and a bit of feta cheese to the top. I still gave it five stars even though I changed it up, because I know prepared as is it still would have been fantastic!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
This was awesome and so easy. I am sure it would have been fantastic as is, but I added chopped onion and a little garlic. I used the bbq sauce I had on hand, but I can't wait to try it with Jack Daniels BBQ!

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
This was super fantastic. Mine was a little salty but that was my own fault. My family cans fresh tomatoes every year so I used that. I forgot about the salt content combined with everything else. HOWEVER, had I not made that little mistake it would have been perfection. A great recipe. Loved it, loved it, and loved it some more.

Chicken Caprese

A little bland as is so you might want to use a bit of salt. Other than that it is a perfect recipe and super easy.

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
Perfection. I do cook my potatoes in the microwave for about 5 minutes before slicing and roasting, this way I don't have to cut them really thin as i prefer them sliced a bit thicker.

Bertolli Classico Asparagus Saute

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
The asparagus was really good as prepared. However, when following the recipe the garlic just burns into a mess, so next time I will add it later in the cooking process.

Butternut Squash Pizzas with Rosemary

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
Amazing recipe. Super easy and it comes out looking like you spent hours slaving over dinner! One of the first recipes where I wouldn't change a thing! I did forget to mention I nuked the potatoes until they were medium soft so I didn't have to cut them into tiny pieces and it worked out perfectly.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
This was fabulous and I altered a tiny bit based on other reviews. I used fresh basil rather than dry and I only used one can of tomato paste and omitted most of the salt and used very little sugar based on personal preferences. Fabulous and delicious and will surely use as my staple lasanga recipe.

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
I only gave it three stars because of a lot changes I made to the recipe based on other reviewers. I used more beans, used chicken broth instead of veggie broth, added more cumin, and more chili powder, also used fresh cilantro and a little sour cream. After all the changes it still wasn't quite perfect, still good though. Next time I will add more garlic and throw in another type of bean. The recipe is a keeper if changes are made but you can do almost anything you want with it and still have a pretty decent easy soup recipe.
