Tea Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
I used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup vegetable shortening and they came out perfect and delicious. I'm always going to use this recipe from now on. I really don't know why the other people had problems with this recipe, but I followed it exactly as follows with the exception of the butter and they couldn't be better.

Chewy Coconut Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
I used 3/4 cup coconut, 1 whole tsp salt, left out choc chips because I didn't have any, left out one egg because I didn't have any, and decreased the flour/baking soda mixture just a little bit (maybe by about 1/2 cup)and these came out perfect. My whole family literally raved about them and they were gone in one hour. Then everyone asked for more! Next time I think I will try with chocolate chips.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 25, 2008
I used whole milk instead of buttermilk because I didn't have buttermilk on hand and I also cut back to just one cup of sugar. I added some chopped walnuts and a few chocolate chips and it came out just fine.

Salmon Fillets with Creamy Dill

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
This was pretty good. Both me and my husband liked, except I did use some other user's suggestions and cut back on the mayo. Next time I think I might try plain yogurt instead of mayo.

Whole Wheat Refrigerator Rolls

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
I'm not sure why this recipe hasn't been tried by more people - this bread came out awesome and I didn't have to change a thing in the recipe. These are definitely worth the time and are a great healthy change from what you buy at the grocery store.

Fruit Pizza

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
This was delicious and all the family loved it, but next time I will definitely GREASE the pan/cookie sheet before applying the cookie dough, because when we tried to cut out pieces, the crust stuck to the bottom and crumbled, making for a not so pretty mess. (still tasted YUMMY though)

Marzetti

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
As is this recipe earns three stars from me. It would probably get four or five if it had more flavor, which I will achieve next time by adding lots more garlic powder and worsteshire sauce.

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2008
This is exactly like the frosting my mom used to make on her cakes. Homemade frosting is so much better than storebought, and everyone that tasted this agrees.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2008
I cannot give this more than three stars. I made it for my mother-in-law's birthday and even though it tasted pretty good and the guests liked it, it was WAYYYYY too dry. I'm not sure what to add to make it moist and less dense - it was like eating chocolate cornbread. I did not use the frosting recipe on this recipe but instead used the Vanilla-chocolate powdered sugar frosting on this website (which is delicious).

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
I added some seasoned breadcrumbs to the cracker mixture and took the advice of other users to cook it for only 25 minutes. This came out soooo good, just like my mother used to make it for me when I was a kid.

Herbed Lentils and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
This was pretty good. Next time I think I'll use red lentils. I had to add about one more cup of water halfway through the baking process because it was wayy too dry. After this it came out nice. Next time I will also put a little more of each spice into it to give it more flavor. I didn't put cheese on top of it and it was still good.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2008
I halved this recipe, left out the Italian sausage and bacon bits, traded a jalapeno for the 2 green chile peppers, and replaced the beef boullion cubes with about 3/4 cup beef broth...and this was still the BEST chili EVER. My husband and the company that was over liked it a lot too.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2008
I did reduce the sugar a little bit after looking over some other reviewer's comments, and this cornbread came out PERFECT. I made it with the Boilermaker Tailgate Chili recipe on this website and everyone looooved it.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2008
I really don't know why people like this recipe. I followed it exactly and it looked and smelled wonderful but tasted so bad I couldn't even finish it. **revision** my husband loved this dish after he noticed it uneaten sitting by the computer and decided to taste it. So at least one of us liked it.

Ultimate Maple Snickerdoodles

I am so glad I tried this recipe. I used butter instead of margarine and used a cinnamon sugar mixture to roll the cookies in instead of the maple sugar. They turned out spectacular!

Broccoli With Lemon Almond Butter

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
Simple and just the right amount of taste. (Not bland but not too flavorful) I followed other user's suggestions and did not include the zest and lessened the amount of lemon juice. It had just the right amount of lemon flavor, not too overpowering.

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
I would rate this 10 stars if that were possible - me and my husband loved these shrimp and they were so crunchy and had just the right amount of sweetness - not too much not too little. Following the recipe I ended up with way more batter so I could have made another batch if I wanted to.
