Classic Dinner Rolls

I didn't have instant yeast so I changed rising times accordingly. Also, I dissolved the yeast and half the sugar in the warm milk mixture. I used a bit more flour than called for but there are so many variables in flour that I always look at the amount in recipes as a guideline.

Sicilian Ragu

This recipe as is gave me some issues as is. However, with a few adjustments we still ended up with a pretty good meal. I immediately added some chopped bacon to the meat because I wanted it to be a little more authentic and we don't care for canned peas so I also decided to omit them right off the bat. When I got the meat cooked and everything combined in the pan to simmer it was much too dry. I ended up adding a can of tomato paste, an extra can of diced tomatoes, and a can of tomato sauce. With these changes it turned out great. Will make again.

Poppy Seed Muffins

The muffin itself was greasy even with half applesauce and half oil. I tried to be gentle with the batter and leave some lumps but the bottoms of these muffins were still tough. I put the glaze on right out of the oven and the sugar was still gritty. I'll keep looking for my poppy seed muffin recipe this is not it!

Bacon Risotto

First time making risotto and I couldn't be happier with the results. I feel like a profesional chef! This recipe is perfect. It's so creamy and comforting and delicious! Instead of mixixng the bacon in I sprinkled it on top of each individual serving. This risotto reheats very well.

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Make this extra yummy... add 1t vanilla, 1/4 t coconut, and 1/4 t almond instead of just vanilla. Soooo good on chocolate or red velvet cake!

Sour Cream Sugar Cookies I

I love these cookies. I didn't find the dough hard to work with at all. It sets up very good in the fridge and is not sticky at all. I've made these three times now because I got so many compliments when giving them away for Valentines.
