About this Cook
I didn't grow up with a mom that loved to cook- we ate a lot of hamburger helper and tuna casserole! But I had a grandmother that was an awesome baker and breadmaker and she inspired me to learn to cook for my husband and future children's sakes. I absolutely love it but I am definately still learning.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies are my all time favorite but I love any sort of baking. I enjoy trying new ways to roast meats and I'm learning to grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holliday baking for sure.... the only thing better than eating pumpkin pie and sugar cookies is giving them away so others can enjoy them.
My cooking triumphs
My sugar cookies... my neighbors, family and co-workers always rave about them and I get requests all the time. Makes you feel good when a few years ago you couldn't tur on an oven. :)
My cooking tragedies
Pretty much the entire first year of my marriage was a cooking tradgedy.

Poppy Seed Muffins
The muffin itself was greasy even with half applesauce and half oil. I tried to be gentle with the batter and leave some lumps but the bottoms of these muffins were still tough. I put the glaze on right out of the oven and the sugar was still gritty. I'll keep looking for my poppy seed muffin recipe this is not it!

Coffee Shop Corn Muffins
Way too cakey and sweet for our tastes. I'll keep looking for that perfect corn muffin recipe.

Bacon Risotto
First time making risotto and I couldn't be happier with the results. I feel like a profesional chef! This recipe is perfect. It's so creamy and comforting and delicious! Instead of mixixng the bacon in I sprinkled it on top of each individual serving. This risotto reheats very well.
