About this Cook
I am a mom wife who has wonderful children and husband to cook for and I love to cook.
My favorite things to cook
I do all things baking!! I can just just about anything else and follow a recipe. I am the master chicken cooker of the house any way you like it
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family of southern cooks. I am the most "advanced" cook to date.
My cooking triumphs
I love cake decorating and currently make a living with a cottage bakery. I used to pride myself on never buying a store bought birthday cake for my kids and now I make them for a living!
My cooking tragedies
Sometimes things don't turn out quite like we intended like the time that I burnt chicken and dumplings, which is my signature dish, for a boyfriend once. To my defense, I was 16 at the time and thought it was more important to play some basketball than to tend to my dish.

Butterscotch Oatmeal
I would give this more stars if I could. I made this for a company breakfast and I have one word for it. AWESOME! I wouldn't say it has anything to do with butterscotch at all though. I quadrupled the recipe because I had about 12 people to feed. I also took 3 apples, peeled and sliced, and sauteed them up in butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. After they were done, I stirred them into the oatmeal. Fantastic! It was by far the creamist oatmeal I have ever eaten.

Party Pinwheels
I made these for a Christmas party. I used yellow bell pepper. They were fantastic. I also made the Fiesta pinwheels from this site to go with them and they both were a hit. I like these better though and will be making them again.

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw
This recipe has been in my arsenal for about 6 years now. It is definately hands down the best coleslaw I have ever had. I would reccomend making it at least 3 days ahead of the day you intend on eating it. It does make alot, but hey it keeps for 2 weeks in the fridge! Be sure to add enough pepper for the correct bite. In my mind it puts all vinegar coleslaws to shame. Forget about mayo based. This is the best.
