About this Cook
I am the lucky wife of the perfect husband. I have two great children who are the loves of my life. I joined this site because one of the ways that I express my love for my family is in preparing good tasting, nutritious foods that they will all enjoy. This site has been an awesome tool in helping me to do that.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that makes me look like an expert. LOL. I suppose that would be anything that someone will enjoy eating.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have always enjoyed cooking with my kids. It is an opportunity to spend time together, teach them something they can use later in life and have the satisfaction of results quickly (like dinner!) My teen son will still cook with me occasionally, but to my 5 year old daughter "The Me & Mommy Show" is the two of us pretending to host a 5 star cooking show to a packed out imaginary audience filling our breakfast room 3 or 4 times a week. She loves it and I love her loving it!
My cooking triumphs
My triumphs are anything I make that all or at least part of my family says, "Hey this recipe is a keeper."
My cooking tragedies
My most famous tragedies #1 My first turkey where I didn't know that there was a little plastic bag inside that held, the "parts" and did not remove it before roasting the bird. Let's just say that it smelled like turkey and "whats that melting in the dishwasher" Yuck. #2 Accidently using baking powder instead of cornstarch to thicken some gravy. It foamed out of pot to fill the top of the entire range. [:0(] (hang on I'm sure there is more coming...'cause I'm still cooking.)

Baked Kale Chips
AWESOME! This tastes too good to be healthy! I am a major "salty snacker," and these are fantastic. I could almost eat them just for the texture. Like other reviews i got creative with the spices and since I love chex mix, I used the same spices (onion powder, garlic powder, season salt, and ground red pepper for a kick) It was super! I gave some to Hubby to try and he tasted a few - wrinkled his nose and said yuck. Ten minutes later he was eating them off my plate saying... "Okay these are addicting." Can't wait to try again with other spices!

Honey Baked Chicken II
Okay, anything this easy should NEVER be this good. I was shocked at the robust flavor. I used boneless breasts because that is what I had. Plated with long grain and wild rice and asian vegis with a little cinn and ginger... hubby said GREAT!

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge
This was a super easy recipe. I followed the advice of other reviewers and used 3 cups confectioners sugar, 1 cup peanut butter and 2 cups brown sugar ( I actually used 1 white and 1 brown since I only had 1 cup of brown). I let the sugar/butter mixture come to a rolling boil and timed it for 2 minutes then removed from heat added the peanut butter and vanilla then SLOWLY added (1/2 c. at a time) the powered sugar to the pot which I was stirring with a wisk. It is a good arm workout but the fudge turned out smooth and yummy. :O)
