Garlic Cheese Flatbread

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
I've been wanting to try this recipe just because it sounded good but I was afraid to try making bread by hand. Well, last weekend my 13-year old breadmaker walked off the counter last weekend and broke, so today I tried it this recipe. My kitchen smells so good. Followed the recipe exactly, and was surprised at how easy it was to put together. I now have a double batch rising to make pizza for supper (I plan to divide it into thirds since the dough was thick). Thanks for the post. I will be making this regularly.

Omelet in a Bag

These were awesome. We made them on a camping trip, even though the family was skeptical. Everyone filled their own pouches, using a sharpie we marked our names on the bags, and voile! breakfast. Thanks for the post. We will definitely be using this one again!

Easy Flat Iron Steak in Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
I rated this 5 stars because of the excellent flavor and easy to follow directions. I was looking for a quick but flavorful way to cook deer steaks (I was kinda worried about the gamey flavor). Because of what i had in the pantry, I subbed prepared mustard for the dry, and regular white mushrooms for the portabellas, but the method was the same with tasty results. My steak was not as tender as I would have liked, but I'm sure was because I was in a hurry and didn't cook them properly. Nevertheless, it was thumbs-up from everyone, and next time, I'll try them in the slow cooker to try to improve the tenderness. Yumm!!!

Sausage Egg Squares

Wow! This is THE best crustless quiche I've ever had or made, bar none! It's light, full of flavor. I made some subs, but am convinced that using the original ingredients would only make it more delish!

Easy Olive Oil, Tomato, and Basil Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
I love the simplicity of this dish, plus it was really good. My mother-in-law, who doesn't like to try new foods, really liked this in spite of the fact that it wasn't cooked (which is one reason I like it).

Pork Sausage and Cabbage Pitas

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
This is a really quick meal to whip up and delicious as well. I gave it five stars for ease in preparation and flavor. I have made it with mild pork sausage a couple of times. Once, to make it a little healthier I used turkey sausage, which did not have as much flavor. No matter which sausage I used, I found it had a lot of spice with the pepper...I just need to remember to back off the hot pepper next time. Whew! It was a little bit too spicy, but darn it, these were addictive!!! The sour cream balanced the spiciness, so that was a relief! Try this recipe, you won't be disappointed.

Vegetarian Refried Beans

This is a very easy, tasty, and healthy recipe. I will be using part of the beans tonight for shrimp tacos (from this site) and the rest with burrito pie later in the week. Very flavorful. Thanks for posting.

chicken and sausage creole

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
This was really good and easy to make. I doubled the sausage just because it was easier to go ahead and add the whole package instead of storing the remainder. Everybody really liked this. I substituted 3 1/2 cups water with chicken bouillon instead of the broth. I will definitely be making this again.

Roasted Rosemary Cauliflower

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
Loved the flavor, and this was so easy to make! I wish I'd had fresh veggies for this, but since I didn't, I used a bag of chopped broccoli and cauliflower, coated the veggies with the oil and seasonings right in the roasting pan. Even my picky son said it was tasty! A keeper for sure. Thanks for the recipe.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
This is excellent and makes a great presentation. I first tasted this at my aunt's house and was very impressed. I found this recipe on-line and it tastes the same. I have made it twice, the first time I made it for a breakfast at church and put it together that morning. It was okay that way, but the egg mixture didn't have time to soak through the bread. The next time I made it the night before, and it turned out perfect. This is great for special breakfasts and takes very little time to put together.

Veggie Potato Salad for a Crowd

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
Although different from traditional potato salad, I found the change refreshing and light. It was a huge hit at a family gathering yesterday and I will be making this often. I'd like to have these leftovers on-hand to eat for several healthy meals and snacks. Update: My husband requested this to take to a picnic at work tomorrow, and I've already promised to make it for a potluck luncheon in 3 weeks. Fantastic!
