Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese I

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2013
It was actually good. I only used one egg and should have used two because it was drier than I wanted it to be. I will make this again for a quick meal. Thank you Shauna.

Campbell's Kitchen Baked Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2013
This made a fabulous addition to the Thanksgiving table. I added a little fresh pepper and a dash of nutmeg. There is never any left in our house. I left out the dry onions and the cheese.

Outrageous Warm Chicken Nacho Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
I loved this! Took it to class for dinner and everyone there loved it. Brought the left overs home and my husband devoured it. I am not a spicy food lover. I did not realize I bought spicy Ro-tel tomatoes which are the regular ones. I will try the mild kind next time. Nice chicken dish.

Easy Seafood Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2013
I had fun with this recipe. I changed the servings via Allrecipes for 6 servings I did not want to make a big batch of salad especially since I was making this for the family. I added 1/4 cup of lite mayo and 1/4 cup of miracle whip. I stalk of celery. 1 pound of shrimp and 1/2 pound of imitation crab meat. I also used 3/4 of the bag of cole slaw mix. I tablespoon of sugar and left out the onions (Not an onion eater) I added Old Bay Seasoning, few dashes of pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice. Next time I will cut up a few chunks of pineapple and add a tablespoon of pineapple juice instead of the lemon juice. I LOVED this salad. Goes will with grilled salmon and grilled chicken. I served with fresh corn on the cob and watermelon cubes. This is a keeper!!!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2012
This was a quick and easy recipe but I could not just add salt and pepper to chicken and dumplings along with two cans of soup??? No way, that would be a disaster dish in my household. I added some curry powder, marjoram, ground turmeric, and Bay Seasoning. Instead of adding regular salt I added seasoning salt. I also used chicken breast instead of chicken thighs. The kids went back for seconds so that is a score of 5 in our household! Thanks for the quick recipe

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
As I was paging through my Allrecipe recipe box, I was shocked that I never reviewed this Honey bun cake. This is a tried and true recipe in my house. My son asks me to make this for his birthday every year and sometimes it is just a Sunday dessert. Even my chocolate-cake-only lover husband has started in on it. Love this cake!

Homemade Maple Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
I use this recipe when I run out of syrup. If it were up to me I would make this ALL the time. My husband swears he can tell the difference. I think it is because he sees me cooking the liquid. I love this recipe! It taste just like that so-called syrup in the store. No, I actually think this syrup taste better. Try it you can't go wrong.

Oven Pancake with Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
My pancake turned out kind of dry and flat. We ate it and it had a nice apple taste but something was not quite right with this recipe. I was expecting a nice fluffy pancake. I am not sure if I will make it again because I don't like to waste food. I rate this a 4 because my family ate it.

WOW! the kids and my husband went back for seconds! thats a five in my book! This recipe was tasty. I added some pepper, Northwood Seasoning from Penzey's Spices, and a little bit of seasoning salt. It was nice to know that my family was eating something that was tasty and good for them at the same time.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
I give this recipe 5 stars. I did use all butter. As a result, I could taste the salt in them. My fault not the recipe's. When I make these again I will use half butter and half margarine. A tall glass of cold almond milk took these over the top!

Hash Brown and Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
I made this as the recipe stated. I used maple sausage thinking that would help with the flavor. I thought the hash browns needed some more flavor to them. Next time I will use another egg and add a half of can of cream of celery or cream of broccoli soup to it and add some Bay Seasoning to the eggs for more zing. I agree with some members this is missing something.

Chocolate Rum Balls I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This recipe was a bit interesting. We have a international ethnic fair that comes every year and I was comparing this recipe to the ladies who make rum balls and sell them at the folk fair. I followed the advice of others and used spiced rum. I am not a drinker so I would not know that spiced rum is spicy. It made the rum balls kind of hot. I am thinking one of the spices must be pepper?hmmmm...I thought the second day, the balls would start soaking up the flavors and still be juicy. They started getting kind of dry. After doing some internet reading, it is recommended to store them in the refrigerator in a airtight container and bring them to room temperature before serving. I thought these balls would have a consistancy of truffles. They did not. I made these to put on a gift cookie plate. I am going to search for another recipe. I may try this one one more time but use shortbread cookies or graham cracker crumbs and use Bacardi instead of the spicy stuff. I also read the dough should be sticky which tell me this recipe needs more rum (liquid)

Pecan Pie Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
When I make a recipe, I rate it how the people I make it for like it. I used these bars in cookie gift plates this year. I am a pecan pie lover! but, I did not like the crust. The 9x13 pan makes the crust too thick and I was careful to press it into the pan. I also followed the advice of others and used parchment paper. This helped with the sticking but as the bars were cooking, they did bubble a bit and the edges seemed to caramalize. As a result, I could not use the edges because they were too hard and chewy. If i make these again, I will use a bigger pan to spread the crust out a bit as well as the parchment paper.
