This is just perfect. I have to double the recipe when we are expecting company. Because, I like to have plenty left for ME the next day. Great to have in the fridge for a quick lunch.

This is excellent as written. However , if you would like it thicker, just add more oats. Thanks for posting....

Tuscan Chard and Cannellini Bean Soup

Reviewed: May 30, 2011
This was everything I hoped it would be... Followed the recipe in everyway but did not have fresh sage, so omitted. Can't believe that would have made it any better. It was fantastic. I did have the Parmiggiano Reggiano Rind, amazingly. So glad I found a place to use it. Just experienced the taste of Swiss Chard about a year ago and we really like it.. We have a dinner club with 3 other couples and I can't wait to share it to them. Thanks for sharing, Callinectes. I did post a picture, because this soup is worth it! Chris from Texas

Poblano Chile Pepper Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
This soup was fantastic!. I put the milk in the microwave for a couple of minutes to heat. This made it easier than watching it on the stove top, not to scorch. Taste is a little spicy at first, but keep eating it gets better and better. I did serve with a droplet of sour cream on each serving. I will make this often as I love the taste of the poblano!

Grandma's Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
This is great. The first time I made it, I didn't even have the tomatoe juice, so I used Bloody Mary Mix..Fantastic. It was so good I only got to taste it as it was eaten quickly by others. I have made it since and it is simply a great recipe with or without the addition of the egg noodles. I serve it both ways. I even use Splenda instead of the sugar. No one even notices..

I have tried this recipe many times and shared it with many friends. I do brown the meats first the drain and rinse a little. Then I put it back on the stove and add the onions and garlic. sauté a few minutes then add other ingredients. Best chili ever! My family and friends love it. Thanks for posting.

Black-Eyed Pea Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
Great recipe. I did add the creole seasonings and a dash only of cayenne pepper. Just enough. This will be traditional for us on New Years in years to come.
