Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Loved it!! I FELT I NEEDED TO UPDATE THIS REVIEW. I MAKE THIS DRESSING EVERY TWO WEEKS - EACH TIME I MAKE 4X'S THE RECIPE - THATS HOW MUCH WE LOVE IT!! FYI - INSTEAD OF POURING THE OIL IN SO SLOWLY HOPING IT WILL THICKEN ENOUGH TO NOT HAVE TO STIR UP THE POPPY SEEDS EACH TIME - ONCE YOU HAVE BLENDED IT - BLEND IT FOR 5 MINUTES WITHOUT THE POPPY SEEDS. IT STAYS BLENDED AND YOU HARDLY HAVE TO STIR IT.....ALSO - DO NOT USE "RED ONIONS" OR YOU WILL HAVE "PINK" DRESSING,, :(

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
This is the third year I've made this lasagna ahead of time (along with Linda's Lasagna) and froze it for Easter. IT IS YUMMY! I do double up on the spices and use a deep dish so I do four layers - also make extra sauce. Thanks for a great recipe!

Seasoned Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
I thought these were great - so much better than the bland taste of gr. turkey! I used half the onion soup mix - added some chopped onion - extra garlic powder and 1/3 cup or so of oatmeal. I froze them with layers of wax paper between. Wonderful for a quick fix!!

I've made this cake for years!! It was originally called "Watergate Cake" along with "Watergate Salad" also made with pistachio pudding--remember - they called it that because it was filled with NUTS!

I got this recipe a few years ago from my sister - I renamed it "garbage dip" only cause thats what I thought when I saw it----THEN I tasted it. Anyway - around my part of the state - its known and loved as "garbage dip".

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I've made this meatloaf for 37 years!! I grew up on it! We put a 1/4 - 1/2 tsp of sage in it - an extra egg - and for the piquant sauce we put 1/4 - 1/2 tsp. nutmeg. ALWAYS make 2 - 3 times the sauce to serve with the loaf. Also we didn't put it on the meatloaf till it was about 15 minutes to being ready - that way when you pour the grease off during the cooking time (which gets rid of a lot of fat)the sauce won't get thrown away also. THERE IS NO OTHER MEATLOAF. P.S. it's great to make sandwiches with!!

Cashew Avocado Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
Fabulous - I didn't have fresh dill do I just used the bottled - also didn't want to buy cashews - I'd have eaten the leftovers!! So I used chopped pecans - other than that I did as the recipe called for - very good - even better the next night where my hubby and I inhaled it all with crackers. Truly better as it sets and gets cool. THANKS - will use this for any chicken salad recipe from now on!!

Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
EXCELLENT!! Just tasted this soup a few weeks ago and had to see if it was on allrecipes--sure enough. I did some of the changes others did because they worked for me or I already had the product. Such as - chicken broth - 1/2&1/2 - Spicy Italian sausage. I shared with family that never had it before - and they also loved it!! Thanks!! UPDATE: I just made the zuppa with a twist and it turned out fab! I used ground turkey and added the seasonings for Italian Sausage into it while frying. Also I used turkey bacon - and finally skim milk with a couple tbs. of cornstarch instead of the cream. It tasted marvelous!! I suppose you could tell the difference if you put them side by side - but it is quite a bit less fattening. Also - I do the "Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type" so I was able to make this work for me and my husband and not give up my favorite soup. Oh ya - I double this soup and freeze it in cottage cheese or lg. yogurt containers - just enough for two people.
