Bob's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
This is soooo over the top good!! The only reason I decided to make it was because I purchased some blue cheese and didn't know what to do with the remains. I've never been a big fan of blue cheese dressing but wanted to try something different. The final results after making the recipe as is.......I could eat it with a spoon!!! UPDATE: If you read reviews and decide to thin the recipe down----WAITE - till the next day. I did thin mine down too much with milk and now it is a bit watery - but I'll still eat it with a spoon!!!

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
I decided to make Teramisu for our Easter dinner - this recipe looked yummy and simple. Seldom do I have goof-ups when it comes to baking - but I blew it this time!! For the filling instead of the mascarpone cheese I decided to cut costs and use the cream cheese - sour cream & "HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM" substitution. Couldn't figure why my layers of cake kept swimming off the plate and it was so sloppy!!? It should have been "HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM" - WHIPPED!! I salvaged the cake layers - trimmed them to fit a 8" triffle bowl - scraped off the filling and made a Tiramisu Triffle. Just one of the little problems of changing a recipe that really doesn't need change! Thank you God for wisdom (better late than never) & a little creativity!!

Pistachio Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
For many of you that changed this recipe and made a frosting of whip cream and pistachio pudding----that's just the old "Watergate cake" recipe for frosting...the cake is a bit different with the almond extract and food coloring I guess...just not a real big deal---but it is good!!

Chocolate Pudding Cake IV

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
I make this cake all the time - it's my "funeral cake". I use 1 cup sour sream - 1/2 cup oil. Then if you want to change things up a bit - use Chocolate mint chips - peanut butter chips - heath bar chips. I also make a chocolate frosting and add peppermint ext. or melt some peanut butter and mix into the chocolate frosting..... This cake is all sorts of fun.

New York Italian Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
This was good - really not that much different than others I've made - but good. Probably the texture was the best part - there really wasn't much taste. The overnite thing probably won't happen again. I'm the kind of person that wants to get things done once I've started!?? Oh well...

Garlic and Herb Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
Instead of bread - I made these into bread-sticks!! I couldn't see a reason why they wouldn't work. Baked up a few and they were very tasty. I'll be having a chicken and a beef/sausage lasagna for Easter and wanted to do something different than the usual garlic bread. I rolled and cut them out and then froze them so I could bake them fresh on Easter. I baked up a few and brushed a bit of melted butter & Parmesan on them towards the end of the baking time---yum! I think I will play with the butter mix some more before I bake the rest. But - loved the bread!! Wonder what kind of a pizza crust it would make!??

I've always made this crust - it's also my mom's recipe with the exception of the baking powder - I'm going to give it a shot next time.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
First time making a pot pie - it turned out great - did a lot of the changes only cause I wanted more veggies. I ended up with too much filling - so today I will be making another pie crust - filling it and freezing it!? I'm curious as to how it will freeze - should be OK - I freeze other unbaked pies - LOVE having premade foods in my freezer!!

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This was a good base for me - I wanted to cut the calories so I cut the butter to a Tbls. - no cream - & no cheese. I sauteed' a couple onions and garlic - used garlic salt - carrots - and brown rice. I just wanted to make it healthy and less fattening. I'm sure its great just as the recipe states and my way is another whole recipe - oh well - at least I didn't mess up the rating!! I only made it for a healthy choice for me to take to work.

Dawn's Candied Walnuts

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
These were a hit - I used pecans - walnuts and almonds. The pecans and walnuts were my favorite. I also used another recipe - Sugar Coated Pecans - it was good also but I think this one was better. My kids loved them! Thanks
