Beef and Bean Chimichangas

I didn't use the corn or bell peppers but I did use a can of tomatoes with chilies. Pretty much the rest stayed the same as directed but you certainly can mix things up a bit and their sure to turn out great. They freeze wonderfully also.

Hot Buffalo Chicken, Bacon, and Cheese Sandwich

I changed a few things according to what I had on hand like: turkey - bacon bits - motz. cheddar and blue cheese & sliced bread. I put butter on both pieces of bread and grilled the sandwich on the stove top. Next time I'll put a little extra sauce on both pieces of bread as I felt it was too dry with the amount I put on & try to have all the ingreds. on hand to make it according to the recipe - but we liked it the cheasy way I made it also - which left me the desire to make it correctly!! Thanks for a new quick meal idea!!

Ground Beef Stroganoff

My husband really likes this - It's one of the meals I make a bunch of and freeze in seperate containers for him to take to work. He likes it on brown rice instead of noodles.

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Simple and yummy - I skinned my chicken threw in the sauce mix (I doubled it - won't next time) and flipped the chicken twice during the cooking. I didn't use sesame oil - only because I have never had a recipe calling for it before and a bottle was around $8.00. I had tons of flavor and will make again someday. I also made brown rice - and saute'd zucchini and onions. Great meal. Thanks Kathy!

Homemade Vanilla Extract

After a lot of research on this I just used a 1.75 Leader bottle of vodka and used 18 Grade A Madagascar beans in about 4 cups. 7 Madagascar beans (Grade A) and 10 Tahitian grade B beans in the other 4 cups. I had already ordered my beans on line before doing extra research. According to the experts(?) you should use Grade "B Extract" type beans for making vanilla. Be sure to scrape the seeds out of the beans & add to the vodka. I have ordered more Grade B Madascar beans and plan to make more with those. I'll see if I can tell a difference and add to my comments at Christmas. This is fun - I got cute bottles and corks from WalMart - $1.00 each. Remember that dark bottles are what vanilla come in-BUT - they sit on shelves for a long time at the store - most people put their vanilla in a dark cabinet - so I didn't worry about that and purchased clear cute bottles (4 oz.) - I'll just tell them to store it in a dark place. I think they will look great with a vanilla bean inside and they can add more vodka to it to replenish! I ordered from "Vanilla Products USA" rather than fighting with bidding. Have fun - its a great project and I'm sure I will have lots of happy friends - family & co-workers! The more beans you order - the cheaper they are! After 6 days-the smell & color is incredible! Use good beans and you won't need more that 4 (5 max.) per cup!

Amber's Sesame Chicken

This is EXCELENT!!! I made it last night as the recipe stated for the ingredients part - although I made extra sauce & fewer sesame seeds. The sweetness was perfect - I usually think the resturants make it a bit too sweet - loved this - and sooo easy! Now for what I did different---I used two pans - cooked the chicken in one and saute'd the veggies in the other with a bit of soy sauce. None of this setting one aside while cooking the other -yada-yada stuff - much simpler using two pans. For veggies I used onion - broccoli - red pepper & carotts. Served it all on brown rice. Great - easy & healthy meal. I can't waite for leftovers!! Thanks Amber - you rock!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

First time I've ever made stuffed peppers. I used red and green - we liked the red the best. I used br. rice - extra worchestershire and a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies. Instead of tomato soup I used tomato paste and diluted it a bit with water and added it to the left over filling and poured it over and around the peppers. Also mixed cheese into the beef mixture and topped them with cheese towards the end of baking time. They were wonderful and plan to use this recipe again!! Thanks

Gooey Chip Bars

Simplicity at it's best!! I didn't do the salt/vanilla thing - made it almost exactly as stated with the exception of throwing some minature marshmellows on top. They were a hit at my (bring a treat) grandsons B.Day party. Thanks!! Will remember this for the next quick fix occasion.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

My grandkids LOVED these!! I used devils food cake mix with white buttercream frosting. I thought they were good - a bit rich for me - and not being a cookie dough lover - I still liked them! My mom always said cookie dough would give you worms :) Aren't we supposed to believe everything our mothers tell us!!? Thanks for the recipe - I'm sure I'll be asked to make them again!

Honey-Mustard Salad Dressing

I really like this dressing for salads. I did use yougert to replace half the mayo (to cut some calories) and cider vinegar. Surprisingly it needed a bit of a kick for me so I added a little lemon juice. I think next time I will cut back on the oil a bit - again - for calorie sake. Now for dipping chicken...you must try "Honey Mustard Dressing II" -unbelievable!! But this is more what I like for salads. THANKS!

Mom's Coleslaw

I thought this was very good - especially beings I'm not a big cole slaw fan. I will definatly try the "healthy" version with half broccoli slaw next time. I wanted to use this on top of burgers or BBQ chicken sandwiches so I tried it out last night to see if we liked it before putting it on a sandwich and ruining the meal. I made it with "Mahogany Chicken Wings" & "Juicy Corn on the Cob" and the whole meal was a hit. Next time I will try it on the burgers since I now know its good! Thanks!!

Juicy Grilled Corn On The Cob

I'm anxious to try this again to see if it really is that good or if I just had some really good corn??!! This totally surprised me - and I didn't grill them - I wrapped them in wax paper and microwaved them. They were great - and I will definitely do it again!

Mahogany Chicken Wings

YUM!! I'm not into hot food - so was happy to find this recipe. Made them exactly as stated. I used 5 lbs. of wings so I doubled the sauce. This gave me extra to drizzle on top of some brown rice. I also made "Mom's Cole Slaw" (next time I will try the healthy version) - "Juicy Grilled Corn on the Cob" (which by the way is great) and some breadsticks It was a ALLRECIPIES.COM night!!! I LOVE allrecipies and I'm very thankful to all the people that share!

Blue Cheese Burgers

WOW!! I used gr. turkey instead of beef. Other than the fact that my kitchen smelled kinda gross - they were the best turkey burgers I've ever eaten!! Whoda thunk blue cheese could have so many possibilities!! Thanks Quicksmyle!

Black Bean Rice Burgers

I used a lot of the suggestions because they all sounded like they would work to keep the burgers from falling apart. I used a bit of flour - breadcrumbs - a dab of olive oil & sprayed the pan. I didn't use catsup like I normally would - I wanted to taste the flavor to see if I would make them again. I'm sure I will be making them again - they are the best veggie burger I've had so far. Thanks! BTW with all the extras - mine didn't fall apart at all.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

I did mine in the oven - 350 for 25 mins. I marinated the chicken six or so hours---man --- talk about flavor. I cut back on the amounts because I only had two chicken breasts--wish I had more for leftovers!! I served it with some asparagus and of course poured a bit of the sauce on top of both. Thanks Theresa!! This will be a great - someones coming for dinner meal - they'll think I worked all day!!

Pan-Fried Asparagus

I grew up with a father that kept his eye pealed for asparagus along the highway and railways - when it was ready to be picked---and was gone - he got a bit irate!! So when he was able to get some he didn't care if he shared it or not. In other words - asparagus was the only vegetable that went on our table that I wasn't made to eat. Therefore I never became a fan of asparagus nor made it as an adult---until now. A nice neighbor dropped some off to us from farmers market. I really liked this recipe. I made it as was stated - but I did use some of the marinate from the chicken (Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs)on top. Both were yummy!!
